WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/02/2016 22:09

I miss the blue uniform.

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:10

Oh lovely. They've made me all teary.

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:15

This is being beautifully done

LetUsPrey · 07/02/2016 22:18

DH hasn't seen eps 3, 4 or 5 and most of this last one. He's just sat down as Dolokhov appeared and started with the "who's that? "what happened to suchabody?" etc etc. Shutupshutup.

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:18

Oh god the epilogue thank god

AnneEtAramis · 07/02/2016 22:19

I have been crying buckets.

Andrei dying
Marya crying
Pierre rescuing child
I even cried for Helene, but frankly, 19th century literature - adulterous woman was never going to end well.

I smirked when the General said the winter would defeat Napoleon.

Oh no Ilya died!

FancyFancy · 07/02/2016 22:20

Good on you Marya - at last someone with the brains & guts to say what they feel

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:20

Oh god. The whole thing. It was fantastic.

FancyFancy · 07/02/2016 22:21

Well thank you for burning my tiny straw of hope that Anatole survived

Badders123 · 07/02/2016 22:22

Well.
That was excellent.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 07/02/2016 22:23

That was fab!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/02/2016 22:24

Not enough Dolocock as usual. But I know that he married a Swedish wench and they lived happily ever after Smile

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:24

Sorry about getting it wrong and telling sparks that TB not in this episode. how stupid do I feel? Blush

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:28

By the way, in the book the Dolokhov character is very very small. He features In a couple of poignant and very important bits of the story. But overall, minor, and not featuring often, not THAT much written about him, word for word.
They made the character big and had TB in every episode, which just isn't how it is in teh book.

Not that WE are complaining, but just saying.

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:29

Christ fancy, he had to go, he was scum.

FancyFancy · 07/02/2016 22:30

I know obs, but he was hot. And we are wenches.

Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:31

Dolokhov was at Rostov funeral as well. I'll have to read the funeral bit again, I doubt he would be mentioned. Artistic license I think.

FancyFancy · 07/02/2016 22:32

So did the relevant wenches see the trailer for the Night Manager with Tom Hiddleston?

OP posts:
Obs2016 · 07/02/2016 22:34

He does WW?

AnneEtAramis · 07/02/2016 22:39

That was brilliant although I zoned out to catch up during the occupation and stuff.

Is it wrong that I sort of liked the French being there because I like the accent?

AnneEtAramis · 07/02/2016 22:40

What's next then until Season 3?

MLGs · 07/02/2016 22:42

It really made me cry at the end! In the epilogue part. Glad to hear it was not just me.

Comtess · 07/02/2016 22:47

Oh it was absolutely brilliant!! Loved it.

Tom shouting at people in French was a high point for me. Dolokhov was made into a fantastic part for him.

I just loved it! Pierre and his sweet view on life, the prisoner with the dig, Nickolai turning out to be not such a twat, etc etc etc. It looked so beautiful.
