omg, we're going to be offered a house!!

just phoned the council to see about medical points, but they arent on there yet. but the lady looked at the notes and we are due to be offered a house which will become empty in the next few weeks. 3 bed, with garden. I'm just trying to find out what the area is like tho. feeling a bit shocked tbh, only put in for a transfer about 5weeks ago.

its nr my dd nursery, nr the docs, near dd new school. its in hatfield, but otherside of town to where i am now. my parents are coming over in a bit so we can drive round to see if theres any problems round that area (gangs of teenagers hanging about etc). but shush, i'm not meant to know!!

Well done. I am so pleased for you. You are so lucky. We are still hanging on for one after 3 years on the list!! We live in a 2 bed first floor flat with 3 children and no garden!!! nightmare!!!

Oooh it's so exciting. Don't be immeidatly put off if there are kids hanging around though. You really need to look at it at different times of the day.

If it looks okay just now then pop back at about9 - 10 pm if you can. Then at least you can get a broader feel for the area

its to do with the major redevolpement of the town. there has been hundreds of new palces built in the last 2yrs which has pretty much cleared the council list. quick all move here lol.

we are on the list for 4 different towns. dont know of any exchange sites.....besides no-one would want to move here...the place is covered in mould and the heating doesnt work properly!!! (dd has asthma too so not helping her being here!)

Yep, try www.availablehomes.org.uk
It's a pretty good site. You have to register to exchange but they also have lists of homes that are to let now.

Think there is another one called A1 exchange or something similar. I just put council house exchanges into google and it came up with a few.

oh crap. the area is awful. the parking is on the street and looks pretty packed, there are steps upto the houses and a neighbhour told me the bathrooms are down stairs. so totally unsuitable for dh. but as they havent considered the medical need to move and this isd based on just our regular points we ahve good bases to turn it down. but will have a look at it properly when we get the keys. one plus side, the houses on one side of the rd have massive gardens!
