Just need some vertual hugs as its too late to phone people. DH has just left (3h drive) to go to his fathers bedside.

thanks - i wasn't really close to him but DH will be an orphan at 29! his mum died in 2004.

Where does he need to drive to ?

Can I suggest even if you go to bed, you ring him every 30 minutes to keep him focussed.

Also, if there is no sibling rivalry, they should keep his Dad informed of his progress. We did this with DH's DM and she died 30 minutes after he got there. We truly feel it made a difference, he got there and said "Hello Mum I am here", then whispered in her ear, we are all here it is OK to go. As I said...She died 30 minutes later.

He's gone - DH didn't get there or even near, he's on his way home. Will go down tomorrow to say goodbye in the Chapel of Rest
