That's probably the best idea Zombie - at least you know they're safe. At our cattery you can pay a couple of extra quid & they'll go in and cuddle your fur babies for you & make a fuss. Does yours maybe do something like that?

I agree with ikl that they will be safe. The last thing you need to worry about whilst you are in is if your neighbour is coping. Xx

Cuddles and fussing are included at this cattery, ikl. It's the one I used before my neighbour started taking care of them. ZCG and ZCT used to get special privileges - allowed out of the cage to frolic every day. They're being given a very posh suite this time.

My neighbour actually seemed a bit disappointed when I told him. He perked up when I asked him if he'd supervise the gardener instead. That would be the gardener who will learn on Thursday that he's going down from 2 half-days a week to 1 half-day a week starting next week.

Ah, that's grand Zombie - I think when I eventually retire I'll end up volunteering as crazy cat cuddler lady at our local cattery place .

Well, Amazon rejected my short story for e-publishing. With no feedback. I'm off to drown my sorrows in gin & cookie dough ice cream

Just kidding - I didn't expect it to be accepted, but at least I tried! More than I would have done a couple of years - hell, months ago.

It's thanks to the support of the phalanx that I even had the courage to think about sending it in. Plus I enjoyed writing it.

A nurse from the QEHB rang me this afternoon. I'm going in on Friday for my pre-op screening. I'm scheduled to see one of the nurses at 10:30 and then the anaesthetist at 11:40. I had a feeling I'd be called in for this at fairly short notice so I'm very pleased I've crossed most of the major MUST DO items off my prep list already. There's still plenty on it but I'm working my way to the "would be nice" items.

And breathe...

Oh, I'm sure some of you will be pleased to know that (at my oncologist's suggestion) I now have new house phones. With an answering machine.

Glad things are moving swiftly AND that you've got all the main things sorted. The 'would like to have dones' are just that - make sure you give yourself chance to have a little rest before your pre-op and admission & build up your strength for recovery.

I'm not sure what will happen, Hearts. It's been about 6 years since they were banished went to Cat Camp.

My passport photos have arrived. Applying for my passport renewal is now on my post-op To Do List.

I've also had a letter about my triannual (is that a word??) colonoscopy. One of the questions is "Have you had abdominal surgery within the last 6 months". By the time they receive the questionnaire back, the answer will be yes. I assume that means the colonoscopy will need to be delayed until next summer.

No appointment letter for tomorrow's QEHB clinics though. The nurse who rang me on Tuesday did say she wasn't sure it would get here in time. I'll just have to take one of my old letters with all my hospital info with me. I've just checked train times and it's going to be another very early start. At least I'll have time for a MaccyD breakfast!

I took a LOAD of recycling to the centre today. It's amazing how much clutter that got out of the kitchen. I'm well on track to getting the kitchen, lounge, bedroom and ensuite all sorted, tidy and clean over the weekend so I come home to a relaxing home instead of a bomb site.

Oh. First fireworks are starting. Cats not best pleased.

I hope the appt. goes smoothly tomorrow in spite of missing letter.

Tomorrow is DS's 10th birthday. Mucho fun. Kid is having more celebrations than her Maj. Meal with us tomorrow night, party with friends Sat morning, family party Sat evening.......I'll be worn out!

Tons of fireworks here too in the wind and driving rain. One went off in a garden i was passing on my walk home from work and I must have jumped two feet!
