Apers - thank you thank you thank you. He us just the most desirable man on the planet. He was so genuine and lovely and sexy. And brilliant. And offfff the Spanish - I did almost slide off the seat when she said that and he smiled.

badders agree totally. TM fans have been royally shafted. Angry. I do love AT and I'm enjoying Poldark but the discrepancy between it and TM is huge.

Baddz · 02/04/2015 14:53

Fact is TM is being made for bbc worldwide and being targeted at the U.S. which means more female nudity, but no swearing and no funny jokes.
Such a shame.
It really is.

Baddz · 02/04/2015 15:00

I'm glad that the poldark fans are being treated well, don't get me wrong.
(Haven't seen it yet!!)
Now that Harvey Weinstein is involved in the US production I predict a Thursday spot at 9pm and lots more female nudity and less of what actually makes the show work :(
Honestly...how many times did any of us laugh this series? :(
I guess a lot will depend in the casting of the new baddie (just didn't like Marc warren...too Panto villain)

FolknNorah · 02/04/2015 15:03

  1. oooooh lovely thank you WW
  2. WTF sparks
  3. special snuggles for mouse and baddersz. These involve being nose first in my cleavage. 4 AHEM. FUCK TOYS BBC. FUCK. TOYS (I'd like to explain this, my shitepad once changed fuck yous to fuck toys and I liked it) Easter Wink

anyhoo, as I was saying..

FUCK YOU AND THE LICENSE FEE YOU TOOK FROM ME TO MAKE THIS

FolknNorah · 02/04/2015 15:06

I am with you on what you just posted. With. You.

Enormouse · 02/04/2015 15:07

Marc Warren will always be a sore spot for me. Adrian Lester described him as the actors actor. And he was so poorly written and relegated to panto villain. His death scene was the only one I saw him doing a layered performance and getting the audience to feel sympathy for him.

Morelikeguidelines · 02/04/2015 15:08

sparkles sounds like you were fab. And how to pick only one question?

Very odd approach to tm altogether. Why would us market logically mean female nudity and not male? Are there no women, or gay men, there?
And why would they be humourless? Not arguing with you all just wondering.

Just my perception of American shows morelike...
Female nudity seems standard after the watershed (and over here too) but make nudity?
The U.S. is very prudish about swearing - see any American sit com.
I think the first series shu our was very british (yes I know they are supposed to be French :)) but it was very sarcastic, droll and self mocking.
I liked it very much.
You just do not get that with the majority of shows made in the US (with the expedition of shows made by people like joss wheedon)

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 02/04/2015 15:17

I have actually just morphed into One Huge Catsbum.

I am really really flummoxed why the BBC has shafted them so hugely. Even if it iS being made for the US - why would they want it to fail here? And they almost seem to be going out of their way now to piss off the fans.

Thank God Apes came up with those goodies today. I may have to just hand the DVD straight back to Mr Amazon Driver when he bothers to deliver.

Re Santi q - I have no idea how that all happened so coherently. No idea at all. Cos believe me I was shaking inside. And the reason there is a pause before he smiles is because the 'answer in Spanish' was an afterthought to my actual question & I had no idea it was coming until it kind-of fell out of my mouth Grin

Morelikeguidelines · 02/04/2015 15:29

Is weird though isn't it? Maybe us audience would like something different if allowed it?

FolknNorah · 02/04/2015 15:31

I agree again baddersz to me series one was sexier than series two, with no female nudity at all (I don't think) but a few topless scenes of them. Plus more kissing and implied sexytimes. Perfect. It was also funnier, sadder...I don't know. better all round.

I dunno. I just don't get it. I know it's just a show, I do. But what the fuck happened?

FolknNorah · 02/04/2015 15:33
Baddz · 02/04/2015 15:34

It is odd, yes.
Look at hbo and their shows...GofT is the most successful show of all time and it's very violent and has lots of sex scenes and swearing.
I realise that people living in americas Bible Belt probably aren't watching it BUT EVERYONE ELSE IS!
Breaking bad, the sopranos, the wire...all hbo and all amazing shows that have become classics.
Maybe we should beg hbo to take on TM?
Then we would get naked musketeers :)

Baddz · 02/04/2015 15:35
Enormouse · 02/04/2015 15:38

HBO have always been like that though. They've always pushed the boundaries with what they air and people pay a premium for it (Sex and the city, GOT, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood).

Bbc would never sell TM to HBO as they already have BBC America

Enormouse · 02/04/2015 15:39

Did you end up buying the oberyn pop vinyl btw badz?

FolknNorah · 02/04/2015 15:44

OOOOOOOoooooh yes! Is there a spoiler allowed thread yet?

And why the absolute FUCK does a bit of the US population get to dictate what I watch?
IYSWIM?
Why do people feel they have to pander to them? TV is world wide now and there are more of 'us' than 'them'. I'm sure they've got their own stations etc, so why do we have to suffer?

And why doesn't it work the other way, why do we have to ruin change our programmes to suit them?

ApricotCrush · 02/04/2015 15:47

My DVD has arrived! YAY! Well, not so YAY. I bought the Blu-ray as I thought it may have more extras, but no, just the 6 features we have already seen. Terribly disappointing BBC. Why? Why? This is a classy, well-made drama with great actors and you've treated it and its viewers with total contempt all along. Angry

FancyFancy · 02/04/2015 15:49

Back already - good news: my risk factor for heart disease is beautifully low, ,even my cholesterol levels came out ok - my cheese love affair can continue, yay! Not so great news - blood sugar levels at the top end of normal

ChaiseLounger · 02/04/2015 15:52

Looking forward to GoT Badds.
Hopes dvd extras is more than those crummy 6 videos Sparks!

We seriously have been very let down. Haven't we? I mean all round?

I feel sorry for MW - I feel his part was badly written and I believe that he is a better actor than what we saw.

I have just finished work for Easter. This is my favourite part of my career year. I have almost finished our year end, despite it only bring the 2nd of April!! So am WELL ahead of the game. I have most of the stuff ready for corporation tax. I have payroll year end next week - lovely! Feeling good.

I now have 5 days off - have tonnes of food in, despite someone stealing my shopping yesterday Shock
I have 2 bottles of wine chilling.
Boys just been collected from football holiday club are busy playing tablets and x box.

Ahhhhhh. What shall I do? (Which episode shall I watch? )

Did we decide? Which episode was the best this series? I think possibly 10. Any other nominations?

Settles down ...........

Baddz · 02/04/2015 15:53

I didn't.
It's in my b day list though.
God, I would be even more pissed if I had paid for a blu Ray! Angry

ChaiseLounger · 02/04/2015 15:53
