Hi all

Our family are holding the funeral of my cousins ds next week, who passed away last saturday 7wks and 1 day old
She would like 'you are my sunshine' to be played, but the Cremotorium will only accept the original CD, so I am desperately searching through all my friends and mumsnetters to see if anyone can help with this matter, if you have it you can cat me, and I promise it will be returned to you straight away.

Many thanks
Frizbe

By whom?

I coudl download it and burn onto a cd and post to you

poptot · 26/10/2006 14:27

So sorry to hear of your loss, I've got it but on a compilation CD I presume this isn't what you mean by original.

CountessDracula · 26/10/2006 14:27

will search for versions

CreepyCrawlyCarmenere · 26/10/2006 14:27

Oh I'm so sorry for your family, that's the song that I sing to my dd Sorry I don't have it but could you get someone to sing it?

VermiciousKnid · 26/10/2006 14:30

frizbe

can't help but thinking of you and your family

LadyUndetrun · 26/10/2006 14:30

bit pricey, but: cd available here

Frizombie · 26/10/2006 14:31

Potpot on a compilation cd may do the trick, it has to be an original....they won't accept it being burnt, so sorry CountessDracula, I'd already offered to do that, but Crem said no

No dice at Barbican Music Library either, sorry

Frizombie · 26/10/2006 14:39

Sorry for your loss xx

I can't understand why the crem are objecting to a burnt copy. You can download the song perfectly legally through something like ITunes and pay for it. What reason have they given for only accepting an original?

SamhainWitch · 26/10/2006 14:43

Hope this link works . 3 versions on Ebay.

foxinsocks · 26/10/2006 14:44

which Beatles album is it on?

SamhainWitch · 26/10/2006 14:48

Hmmm, my link didn't work but if you search on Ebay there is a Bing Crosby version on CD and a few other versions in EBay shops.

Lot cheaper than Amazon.

HTH

gscrym · 26/10/2006 14:48

Could they have someone singing it. I know it would be tremendously hard to do but there may be someone who would be able to.

So sorry for your loss.

CountessDracula · 26/10/2006 14:49

Apparantly it is on the soundtrack to Oh Brother where art thou if anyone has it

I will go and dig around I may have the Ray Charles version

foxinsocks · 26/10/2006 14:50

the Bing Crosby version is lovely

gscrym · 26/10/2006 14:53

Here at HMV by Bing Crosby.

You are my sunshine

Frizombie · 26/10/2006 14:55

They're worried about copyright law, even tho my cous has tried to explain about downloading, apparently its gotta be the real deal...

We have the 'oh brother where art thou' soundtrack, but I wouldn't be able to find it until dp comes back on Sunday.

What day is the funeral? I would happily post it to you if you CAT me your address.
