Hi all

Our family are holding the funeral of my cousins ds next week, who passed away last saturday 7wks and 1 day old
She would like 'you are my sunshine' to be played, but the Cremotorium will only accept the original CD, so I am desperately searching through all my friends and mumsnetters to see if anyone can help with this matter, if you have it you can cat me, and I promise it will be returned to you straight away.

Many thanks
Frizbe

I am pretty sure we do have the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack, Frizbe, at home. I am working late tonight but will try and post with an update on Friday morning.
Tbh I think the Bing Crosby version is lovely.

Sorry I can't help, but bumping for Frizbe.

Frizobe, I am so sorry
I could have lent it to you but all my CDs are on a container and I won't get them in time. Looks like Enid has it though so I'm glad about that, even though it will be heartbreaking

poptot · 26/10/2006 21:46

So sorry for your loss, but what a beautyful choice of song!

JanH · 26/10/2006 22:03

This was always one of our children's bedtime songs. DS1 is currently staying with ggglimpopo, and when he puts her DD4 to bed he sings it to her because we sang it to him.

I guess that makes it perfect for a baby's funeral, esp the second verse, but as Enid said, it would make me inconsolable

Very sorry for you and your cousin's family

Frizombie · 26/10/2006 22:36

Ohh I love you lot your all lovely no matter what some may say!

So sorry i don't have cd to give to you.

I used to sing this to my first child all the time.

Have you tried your local library?

So sad for your loss.

Have been there myself, so i know how hard it is.

If you did buy a copy, it'd be a lovely keepsake for the baby's parents.

Hope the sun shines for you all on wednesday. xx

EnidVorhees · 27/10/2006 13:26

I have sent it today

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 27/10/2006 13:50

cant help but just wanted to say how its obviously a very personal song for lots of us...i sang it to dd from being born and changed the bit 'you'll never know dear'..to you'll neevr know Eve' and dd thinks its her song..she had it on a soft play phone from being a baby and always settled when she heard it..then one day when a toddler, we saw a calypso band playing in town and dd was so excite dhearing them sing 'her' song

Frizombie · 27/10/2006 20:39

Thanks Enid
