Well it's now Monday and I hope with all my heart that today will be the day that Zombie turns the corner and starts to recover , I am sure you all feel the same, I really feel for her at the moment. You are in my thoughts Zombie x

marriednotdead · 18/05/2015 06:34

Wishing and hoping (as we all are) that lovely Zombie is able to kick this thing to the kerb and get back home soon.

I'm not religious but my DS has just come back from a Christian retreat and is truly joyful in his newfound faith. I hope it continues to give him peace, and that everyone's love for Zombie is also quietly helping her through these dark hours FlowersBearFlowers

Congrats on joining the GP club magimedi, I became a member 19 months ago and it's brilliant Smile

A wholehearted thank you to TGL for bridging the gap and keeping us updated Flowers

PeaceOfWildThings · 18/05/2015 07:38

Praying that Zombie has had an easier night and is more comfortable today and that the diuretics can ease the fluids from her abdomen and around her heart.

Praying for Zombie and all of her RL entourage to know they are held up in love and surrounded by the gentle good wishes and care and concern of many.

I haven't posted for a long time, but felt I must add my voice to all those hoping and willing the very wonderful Zombie to show some improvement soon.

thinking of you ZombieThanks
I've lit a candle for you - to me the light symbolises continuous prayer.
It's a Yankee CandleWink

In fact I probably know Zombie less well than many of you. We first met through the Mumsnet local Shropshire group where we bonded because we had both had breast cancer and we're both quite a bit older than the rest. I am 9 years older than Zombie.
We met up for lunch a couple of times then, on an occasion when I had hurt my back, we invited her here. We had a great lunch and she and my husband got on well.
When she was having her last lot of chemo I took her to an appointment and shopping afterwards.
This time, when she was admitted, I had a message from one of her friends (one of you in fact) saying she would like me to visit. She asked me to keep you all updated. I visited alternate days and did the post run:) until last Thursday when it became obvious that she really wasn't up to visits except from her niece. I had to go back yesterday with the last of the cards and ikiboo's poem.
The rest you know and I will only go back if she improves or asks for me. I will continue to update as she asked with info from her fb page via the niece.
Thanks for reading but I didn't want you to be under any illusions.
Zombie feels very important to me now. She has such strength and courage and I am in awe of this wonderful lady.

mummylin2495 · 18/05/2015 10:25

TGL we are very grateful that you are in contact with Zombie , or we would probably not of been aware of her being in hospital and being so poorly. It means a lot to us all to be able to hear how Zombie is doing. I agree with you, she is an incredible lady and we will all be extremely happy when we hear that she is on the mend. She deserves this so much , and of course she has her DS coming over in August. Please tell her she is in all our thoughts and we are wishing her to get well with everything we have got. Thanks

Allalonenow · 18/05/2015 10:57

Hoping that the nebulizer has done its job well, and Zombie has started to improve now.

That's a lovely thought about lighting a candle Zing, I'm going to do that too.

mummylin2495 · 18/05/2015 13:10

There is a site called gracefulness. Org where they have virtual candles online, but I can't work out how to put in here or create a MN group for Zombie. ( I am thick ) !

PeaceOfWildThings · 18/05/2015 17:07

Thank you greylady, you have been so wonderful, especially in stepping back so sensitively in recent days. Flowers

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 18/05/2015 18:41

I remember Z telling us how much she enjoyed your first meeting greylady and how much you had in common.

You really have been wonderful delivering cards and messages to Z and keeping us informed about her.

It must have been difficult for you and we all appreciate it beyond words.

As lin said, we wouldn't have known what had happened if you hadn't kept us up to date.

I've lit a candle too, just a big fat one from Asda, not smart like Zing's Smile

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/05/2015 19:49

Bee
aaww, you have candle envyGrin

all the money I don't spend on booze you know...Wink

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 18/05/2015 20:11

I do darling Wink[clink]

Lovely idea, I wouldn't have thought of it without your prompting Flowers

mummylin2495 · 18/05/2015 21:07

I have some candles which change colour as they burn. I have had them about two years! I don't really light many candles at home because I am terrified of having a fire. But for Zombie I will light one.

iklboo · 18/05/2015 21:33

Candle lit for Zombie. DS has some LED ones in his bedroom as well.

mummylin2495 · 18/05/2015 21:48

Have lit my candle too. If I don't post after this it's because I think my iPad is broken, the button to go on my programmes is stuck.

CarbeDiem · 18/05/2015 22:59

I also lit a candle earlier, a Yankie Marguarita one, it smelled lovely.
Still rooting for you Zombie.

thegreylady · 19/05/2015 00:09

No one was able to visit today so no update but at least no bad news. Z was due to have lots of tests today so hopefully they will be able to offer some worthwhile treatment. It seems at best she will have to wait for her liver op which is a shame.

mummylin2495 · 19/05/2015 00:47

I think I prefer no news to bad news TGL ! As you said hopefully the tests will show up what is happening. It's a shame about Zombies op. Sod's law that this happened isn't it. I think it will be a while now until they do the op don't you ?

TheoriginalLEM · 19/05/2015 08:17

Thus dropped off my active thread. Zombie is always in my thoughts even though i rarely postxx

The greylady you are n angel

TheoriginalLEM · 19/05/2015 08:22

iklboo - stunning poem. A great use of the F word. Grin

PeaceOfWildThings · 19/05/2015 08:32

I've lit a pretty lavender scented candle in a lilac coloured glass.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 19/05/2015 09:12

morning TeamDBFBrew

thank you TGL - no news is better than bad news, really hope Z is strong enough for tests and the results will be something treatable, soon.
shame about the op, but they just can't risk it, it's sensible.

more big hugs to Zombie and the Phalanx

IonaMumsnet · 19/05/2015 16:54
