None under my tree - bother.

Evening all. Joining wenches on the post Christmas slump bench... Looks like my NYE plans have fallen through which means NYEon my own. I don't mind time on my own at all but when it's something like NYE it reminds me just how crap and generally antisocial I am. oh well, might go to the cinema or something

Having now brought down the thread I'm going to empty the dishwasher.

Baddz · 29/12/2014 20:48

Ooooh I love being in bed by 10pm on NYE Smile
Fuck it.
Can't stand the forced jollity of it all.
I am getting more curmudgeonly by the year....

GoodQueenWenchAnneLass · 29/12/2014 20:51

Yes Madame. Really quite close. I can wander down after school run kind of close.

Mave- that's a shame. I also don't have plans and DH usually just sits on his phone or watches Netflix - shall we Skype and keep each other company.

LetUsPrey · 29/12/2014 20:53

I'm not big on NYE either. I'll be watching Hootenanny this year though as Paella's on it. So that's Wednesday and will get me warmed up nicely as if I'll need it for Friday.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 29/12/2014 20:53

Well I have 25 for dinner, am not sure which is worse. And my head is exploding from the shopping so soon after Christmas, so much so that I came home from Aldi without having bought the 25 pizzas I am slinging at all the kids. Not that I have room in either fridge or freezer for them. FMP.

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/12/2014 20:54

I have never liked NYE. Always an anticlimax even in the days of freedom and youth. It's the worst night of the year to go out. Bloody freezing. Everything costs at least double. Everywhere rammed. No bloody taxis for love or money. Bah.

GoodQueenWenchAnneLass · 29/12/2014 20:57

I loved NYE when it was a dance on the bar at midnight type affair. Less bothered now.

Soooo, given our multiple locations and to avoid confusion I am taking my posting to Telly Addicts to enjoy the build up. Let's be gentle with the newbies.

BloodyElkFire · 29/12/2014 20:59

Awww.....Mave Sad , have you got the boys?.....you can come here if you like

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/12/2014 21:00

Mavis Come join us for NYE - I plan to be asleep well before the bells. In fact, given my current energy levels, I'd happily sleep from now until the new year.
Badderz I washed towels today and left the biggest one damp on the laundry basket while waiting for space on the airer. Sodding inconvenient cat decided that it didn't matter if it was cold and damp, it looked comfy to him. Tomorrow I shall be washing the towel again

Hahahahaha, one of the Discussions of the Day is Twitter - how does it work?

Shall I go & tell them that you don't actually have to know as nobody else does either?

LetUsPrey · 29/12/2014 21:12

Grin Sparkle

Get your rest now Helen, you need to be ready for this time FOUR DAYS FROM NOW!!!!

Going to watch some more of The Hobbit with DH and DS1 #dedicatedwifeandmother

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/12/2014 21:28

I'm more excited about TM than NYE, almost forgot it's on wednesday Grin

FolknNorah · 29/12/2014 21:35

Oh my wenchies. We are, as ever, as one. I don't like NYE either. Total bolleaux.

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/12/2014 21:40

ww how do you celebrate it there? What will you be doing?

Enormouse · 29/12/2014 21:40

NYE is the biggest anticlimax ever.

At a risk of sounding even more like my own mother, when did all the jumpers and tops become cropped? I've been perusing the online sales and looking for new jumpers and every sodding one is cropped. I don't want to show off my midriff anymore.

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/12/2014 21:44

I have just been sent an email entitled "Did you enjoy [name and location of theatre]'s production of [shitepanto]?"

Hmm
MavisGrind · 29/12/2014 21:47

Awww you lovely wenches, I'm fine really. I think, in my head as you know delusional spend NYE sipping a very dry martini (with an olive) in 1957 somewhere swanky. As I say...delusional.

Anyhoo, currently watching Mapp and Lucia which isn't helping my Anna Chancellor girtl crush.

FancyFancy · 29/12/2014 21:57

Grin @ MILFs sparks

comtess, I was Angry having worked myself up to a frenzy all weekend at the thought of FAF Zaf, I can only hope this means he'll be in the next series. I believe you re Quinn, I have faith that you'd know a good offer when it's made to you Wink

mouse, toddlermouse just sounds more and more adorable! He's got her sussed, smart lad!

My God norah, your DD delivered the perfect Fuck You Pal didn't she? Grin

LetUsPrey · 29/12/2014 21:58

Recording Mapp and Lucia. Is it good?

I know what you mean Mouse. My grandma always used to say (when she saw girls dressed like that) that their kidneys would get cold Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/12/2014 21:59

mouse I now find myself purchasing jumpers at M&S. They do some really nice knitwear. No, really.

BloodyElkFire · 29/12/2014 22:01

Just wondering wenches....are we maintaining the telly addicts thread in the Tavern and dragging all the newbies along with it, or are we starting anew with a fresh look batshit mental alternative universe?

BloodyElkFire · 29/12/2014 22:02

I've already moved a new chaise in you see....

ApricotCrush · 29/12/2014 22:05

Ah Mavis I was just about to say that I've just seen you on the TV. Grin

Not watching it, just saw it as I was channel-hopping.

I hate NYE too. We usually watch the fireworks in London in bed, then nod off.

Night all. Smile

MavisGrind · 29/12/2014 22:09

I've enjoyed Mapp and Lucia but then I love books of that era.

Surely we have to be Swagger Inn, even in telly addicts? We are what we are and although we welcome all new commers as long as they fancy a Musketeer we have history

MavisGrind · 29/12/2014 22:11

As an aside, watching the news, Nicola Sturgeon has really bad hair
