We are getting to the 1000 limit so I thought I would start a new happy thread!

Anyone know anything about the CM site update, or their promotional material? Just wondering if anyone had heard.

ellesmum · 16/10/2006 17:52

isabel told me she is sorting it out at the moment and emailing people to let them know whos been chose for the website e.t.c, she said the new website will be ready by next month.

housemum · 16/10/2006 17:53

I would imagine that UA are getting tons of applications, as so many people say how good they are. Perhaps they are getting fed up with so many applicatinos and a bit tetchy!!

They turned down DD but hey, that's the way it goes - they either didn't like the look of her for the clients they have, or she was too like the others on their books - location may have come into it as we are not London but they didn't mention that (I applied by e-m so they wouldn't have known initially, figured if they were interested they would ask where we lived)

Quadrofiendia · 16/10/2006 17:56

I know I'm sorry!! have to defend UA honour, although their repuataion speaks for itself and all that!!

Quadrofiendia · 16/10/2006 17:58

I doubt they are getting tetchy at all, my guess is that they are sending standard emails to those that they don't feel are suitable, that is probably alot of emails considering they want to keep their numbers down, which is a good thing!
I think the emails are fine, to the point and offer elsewhere to look, not sure what else parents want

littlemadam · 16/10/2006 18:02

Mmmm, I read that UA thread and thought exactly that...(but too much of a wuss to say it )
Lindac, are you filming on location?? You might meet all the stars!! I'm sure lots of others here have a lot more experience than me but we found that everyone got lunch together and prople were really happy to have pics taken with the little ones (for us mummies to drool over later!!)
DLM is your thing for Tescos out soon?? Are there any more to look out for, I know Ellemum DD will be in M and S, and Thorntons in White Co, and Ragamuffins DD in Girltalk, but losing track of everyone else...
Good luck to anyone else waiting on castings/shoots - mimi, did you hear?

mrsratty · 16/10/2006 18:03

lindac - Well done, sounds like grovelling paid off!

Littlemadam - will try to watch out tonight. Is the Junior shoot on Thursday, we weren't told whose doing it.

RE CM.net, some people are sore losers!

Ragamuffin · 16/10/2006 18:11

littlemadam......to add to your look out for list....my DD will be in the WHSmith Christmas Gift Guide which according to the branch I popped into on Sat.......it should be out on Wed 18th.....so only 2 more days to wait!!!! Will be watching Mrs Beaton with interest tonight, especially as DS also cast for this! So glad that John Richmond shoot went well. I am also dying to see those pics!

Holding thimbs for the 3 of you waiting to hear on the Junior shoot.

Quadrofiendia · 16/10/2006 18:11

I should really be, well you know, but seriously who has the time to copy and paste fairly standard emails in an inflammatory manor to try and make an agency look bad. If that doesn't say sour grapes it says very bored individual. I can't bloody get on it a the moment if let me know if I'm being slated!!

Tinkerbel5 · 16/10/2006 18:16

Quad I just got back in, I couldnt get in either, nothings been said.

Littlemadam will look out for you son tonight, I love period drams, I nearly cried at the end of Jane Ayre last night

Quadrofiendia · 16/10/2006 18:17

Isn't tonight prog the prequel, and due to be on BBc one next week?

mrsratty · 16/10/2006 18:20

WOO HOO, DD is on the cover of a French magazine (along with some other kids). If you eyes can take it have a look extrasmall

OP posts:
Tinkerbel5 · 16/10/2006 18:23

Quad that was on BBC4 last night straight after Jayne Ayre, but on sunday 9pm

littlemadam · 16/10/2006 18:33

Fabby Mrsratty, another beautiful picture of your DD!!! It looks an amazing magazine, really funky clothes, I couldn't work the pages very well tho!!

Thanks Ragamuffin, I remember her doing that WHS one now!! Will get one on Wednesday and take a peek. Quad, will look in Sainsburys too, ours is yonks away so will treat myself to a trip...
The drama last week was the prequel to Jane Eyre, tonight is Mrs Beeton, its got good reviews so will be good even if they have cut DS out!!! He didn't cast for it, he doesn't have any lines, just gets his nose wiped...he just looks like a victorian urchin!!!!
Mrsratty was told the shoot was Thurs, Fri or Sun, depending on weather so may be a different one.

dylansluckymum · 16/10/2006 18:34

well done to your dd mrsratty! she's in the red jacket right? i've never actually seen her face on, only profile.

littlemadam glad the shoot went well. cannot wait to see the pics i bet they are amazing! ds should be in tesco end of october. don't think anything else comes out until the end of the year.

fingers crossed for everyone waiting to hear about junior and good luck to anyone else with jobs/castings. have a very busy week getting ready for our first little family holiday (going to a cottage in devon for a few days on friday) so may not be on much. x

mrsratty · 16/10/2006 18:34

OP posts:

dylansluckymum - yes she has the red jacket on.

OP posts:
ellesmum · 16/10/2006 18:40

mrsratty - had a peek at the website she looks fab! i couldnt work the pages very well!!

mrsratty · 16/10/2006 18:41

ellesmum - they are a bit fast! Got the hang of it eventually!

OP posts:
housemum · 16/10/2006 19:03

Quad - I was actually agreeing with you, don't think it came out like that though - I must admit I skim-read the posts slagging off UA but just got the impression that some replies were a a bit terse. Perhaps they weren't, that'll teach me to read! My point was that they take some they reject some & that's the way the cookie crumbles - if you can't handle rejection you shouldn't be in this game. Everyone knows their DD/DS is the most gorgeous in the world but they can't all be universally popular or the right look!

cyan · 16/10/2006 19:04

hi guys

Quad read your post(s)! on cm net and felt compelled to add that i completely agree with you. I'm sorry but some people just confuse me, if they are happy with their agency why are they applying to UA? And just to reiterate what I said on there the other week, I personally wouldn't bother with it all if we lived any further than we do, and we have a tube station on our doorstep, but that's me. A cpl of people took my comments personally but I was only drawing on my own experience with a toddler doing this. And also, sorry to go on, I agree with UA for declining babies that live outside London for the reason that it can be v tiring commuting into town.
Sorry to have posted this here but it seems as though a cpl of peopl on cm net have a vendetta against UA for declining their kids. Oh and besides it says one thing about the agency, that they dont take on every child that applies, , and keep their numbers low to hinder any inhouse competition.

rant over

housemum · 16/10/2006 19:08

MrsRatty - lovely pic (though I think I now have motion sickness from trying to stop the pages...)

lanismum · 16/10/2006 19:12

cyan and quads have said it all for me but i thought id add, cant be bothered to read the cm.net posts, but if these people cant take their kids getting rejected by an agency, how on earth are they going to feel when they dont get a job? are they going to complain about every company that wont use their child after a casting?
ok i admit to boycotting blooming marvellous for a while, but honestly, do they think their kids will get a yes for everything all the time?
