Saves going to the supermarket every time we run out you see, it made perfect sense to me until I heard a Radio One DJ describing how her flatmate used to freeze milk and how vile and unhealthy it was.

C'mon, there must be other milk freezers out there!

We get ours delivered otherwise we'd always run out!

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 06/10/2006 19:58

frozen milk weirdies

belgo · 06/10/2006 20:00

We have a supply of sterilised milk that lasts for ages in the cupboard. Plenty of mums freeze breastmilk without any problem.

Rhubarb · 06/10/2006 20:00

My milk is fascinating!

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 06/10/2006 20:06

and meat

belgo · 06/10/2006 20:07

How can you defrost bread without it becoming soggy?

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 06/10/2006 20:07

sorry, am finding this amusing for some reason and am stone cold sober so that's not it

foxinsocks · 06/10/2006 20:09

frozen bread totally overrated

you can't get the slices off without slicing your fingers off with the knife or ending up with one piece that comprises about 3 half slices of bread

either than or it goes all soggy in the microwave and is then too hot to eat

no win situation really

(unless you are super planner person and remember to take it out in advance)

Rhubarb · 06/10/2006 20:11

You put it in the toaster for a minute. Or in a warm oven. It doesn't take very long to defrost, leave a whole sliced loaf out for 20 mins and it's defrosted!

I never have trouble separating the slices, you lot are just wimps!

do you have a fridge Rhubarb?

Rhubarb · 06/10/2006 20:16

We have a lovely new freezer!

Milk only lasts so long in the fridge so you might as well buy in bulk, same with bread, if you use it every day buy lots and freeze! My freezer looks lovely and full! I wonder if you can freeze cheese and other things?

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 06/10/2006 20:18

Apparently, you CAN freeze cheese. It was Norma Major's contribution when she was asked to contribute some tip to somewhere. My old cleaner told me that on my wedding day (1st wedding) in 1998! (Deb, are you on here?)
