Never have, but I eat pretty healthily anyway.

princessmel · 24/09/2006 11:39

I haven't either.

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 24/09/2006 11:42

I've never done either. I've also never had scales since I've had my own home.
I've not got much of a sweet tooth so I don't snack on chocolate, sweets or cakes (I'd rather have an extra main course) I do know that I love crisps, as does DH, so I never buy them, only eat them at other people's houses. Makes them even more delicious.

Mercy · 24/09/2006 11:43

I've never done either of those things

charliecat · 24/09/2006 11:44

I dont have scales either.
I have put on a a shed load of weight since stopping smoking(have ate tons of crap to compensate) but not enough to make me want to diet.

Nope. This is how to stay slim: Eat when hungry, don't eat when not hungry, get some exercise, if have a few days of junk, stay off junk for a few days. Don't drink loads and expect it to have no effect on your waistline. Accept that your natural body shape may not be an 8 or a 10.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 24/09/2006 11:53

Nor me. I watch what I eat but don't count calories as such. Cut down and booze and choc if my Trousers of Truth (that saying was nicked from someone on here) don't fit.

I run/exercise regularly and get really p!$$ed off at people who say 'Oh you aren't overweight, you can eat more chips/crisps/etc' or 'Why do you exercise so much, you don't need to' usually my MIL...... Grrr isn't that the point? If I didn't do it I'd need to do it.

poppiesinaline · 24/09/2006 12:05

I havent either. In fact, I sometimes think I am the only female on the planet actually trying to put weight on

merrily · 24/09/2006 12:25

Well I never did it until I turned 30 three months ago... I had put on weight since I stopped breastfeeding and couldn't fit into a lot of my summer clothes. So I signed up for Weight Watchers online, lost a stone in 6 weeks, and feel much better for it. I'll definitely use it again if I have a specific amount of weight I want to lose - but couldn't imagine doing it for months and months on end like some women seem to. Life's too short! Everything in moderation works for me (most of the time!)

FrannyandZooey · 24/09/2006 12:26

Good for you, well done. Dieting makes you fat.

NotQuiteCockney · 24/09/2006 12:27

I've never counted calories or been to WW or any other diet plan. I've never had a "diet". I don't think I've ever tried to lose weight, even. I have tried, at times, to be healthier, but always in a sustainable way that I'd happily carry on indefinately, iyswim.

(Having had an anorexic friend, I am v twitchy around diets, anyway.)

fullmoonfiend · 24/09/2006 12:28

me. I believe in everything im moderation. But I apply that belief very moderately to cake. Which is the key to everything.

hettyblue · 24/09/2006 13:20

nope never have done either - i don't own scales and don't weigh myself - i also think bmi is a load of bollox as it doesn't account for different frame sizes, weight distribution of muscle. Being a tall big boned girl i am sure my bmi would not reflect reality so I generally go by dress size - although that doesn't really help cos on a fat day i can go try on clothes in monsoon or DP(which are huge) and feel better. While shops like H&M though i love the clothes make me want to die coz i have to wear size 20 to get my arse in them (size 14-16 in monsoon!)pita...

while i am breastfeeding i find i lose weight but after 2 babies in 2 years my tummy is horrible so it might have to do sommat about that - in the meantime i will tuck it into my big pants...

codwiggle · 24/09/2006 13:26

I've never done either, apart from anything else I just could not be bothereed and don't think I could stick to one, especially those awful ones where you're not allowed to eat real food

Agree wholeheartedly with MadamePlatypus. Just eat sensibly and no need to deny yourself a little of what you fancy. Everything in moderation!

Me neither. And don't own scales.

wartywarthog · 24/09/2006 14:20

no, i don't either. and no sign of scales in our house! evil things.

charliecat · 24/09/2006 14:32

I did cod. But now i dont....

Indith · 24/09/2006 14:33

Not alone!

I have no idea how many calories are in anything, I suppose I have a pretty healthy diet anyway, always cook fresh everything (wouldn't know what to do with a microwave meal if I had one!) but eat cake, chocolate etc on a regular basis without any guilt twinges whatsoever! Then again my problem tends to be weight loss. I can think I'm eating and exercising normally and suddenly realise you can count my ribs an my skirts are falling off!

SoupDragon · 24/09/2006 14:46

Me. Never done any of that.

SoupDragon · 24/09/2006 14:47

I have a basic understanding of what I should and shouldn't eat though.

charliecat · 24/09/2006 14:49

Where are all of your in RL then? What do you say when other people are drooling on about points and having a fit becasue they ate a biscuit a week ago?
