tavalana · 02/09/2006 21:15

YummyMummy21 - Are you going to the cm.net shoot on the 8/9?

deejay18 · 03/09/2006 11:27

Really need advice! We live in Belfast and my 18 month old son keeps getting told he should be in modelling. However, getting an agent which represents people over here is tricky. Any recommendations? Bizzykidz said they don't take from round here, and same went for childsplay. Models Direct do, and have sent us a contract. However, I have heard some negative things about them, so haven't signed anything. Help!

tavalana · 03/09/2006 11:55

deejay18 - would you really consider coming all the way to london for a casting that will pay £15 and take 10 minutes and that doesn't even guarantee a job? also consider the fact that agencies dont usually give a lot of notice for jobs so they may call you today for something tomorrow.
there must be an agency around there, have you checked childmodelling.net? from what i've heard it's best to stay away from models direct. in your place i'd look for a more local agency. good luck.

well done ellesmum and educating rita, seems like you had a good time, glad the lovelies enjoyed themselves.

educatingrita · 03/09/2006 17:57

Tav - there wern't many kids there, only 1 baby and a gorgeous little blond 3 year old when my 7 year old got there. She was the last of the day so not overloaded!

We were there almost an hour so I think/hope we may get some lovel shots! [smila]

BBWBabeLisa · 03/09/2006 18:12

Hiya folks. Was fab to meet some of you and your gorgeous wee ones today at the shoot. Can't wait to see the piccies. Won't be around much the next week or so as Lola and I are flying to Glasgow tonight coz we got a phone call last night to say my grandad isn't likely to hold out much longer. Take care and catch up when I get back. Lis x

housemum · 03/09/2006 18:38

BBW - hope all goes OK, will be thinking of you. Great to see you this afternoon - Lola is sooo cute!! Hope Georgie didn't throttle her too much when she they were trying to get the pics of them cuddling!

Educatingrita - great to meet you too - and a Razzledazzle star! Your DD is lovely & I hope she gets lots more work.

We had a good time but DD was not her best as the Fimble show this morning had got her so hyper that she flaked out in the car, and she's never at her best just after waking.

Fimbles was really god for her - we had front row seats - DD has now told me she wants to be Sarah Jane (tikkabilla) when she grows up which makes a change from Minnie Mouse. The second the music started she was dancing and singing, and was so excited when Florrie spotted her and her friend and crouched down to wave. Totally shattered now & shall probably veg out in front of telly.

ellesmum · 03/09/2006 20:10

glad to hear that everyone else had a good day at the cm shoot, it was very fun, shame i didnt get to meet any of you! i met a mum from cm net and napm.

bbwbabe - will be thinking of u!

julie4travel · 04/09/2006 09:46

Morning all hope you are well

I see on here with KL you email them your own photos to keep them updated, is this just babies or all children. Can anyone with B and B advise me if thats what they do with them? I am not that keen on the photo they have of my ds and wondered if I could email them a better one.

Glad the CM shoot went well. My dd is looking forward to hers on Friday and my ds the film on Sat so its all exciting for them both this week.

Hopefully my ds will get some work soon.

Good luck with yoru castings it seems busier now.

My ds was reluctant to go back to school today, quite tired and grumpy.

lindac · 04/09/2006 10:00

Julie4travel> thats fine i found it now but it did take ages !
hope you enjoyed the seaside it's nice to get away we went of for 4 days last week it was good

still waiting for my dd's first call from kl hope it will be soon back to school thursday for her
good luck with all your job's etc

yackertyyack · 04/09/2006 10:07

Hi Julie
WIth little ones KL recommend updates every other month or so. I have always posted them as I didn't think they did email! I usually send a couple of good clear headshots and let them choose which one they use. Can't do you any harm sending in new photos if you have some good ones.
Still nada on the starnow front!

Joje · 04/09/2006 10:53

I can tell how experienced you all are and wondered if you could help my ds start earning his keep only joking he is cute in others eyes as wel, as mine but where do you start ??

julie4travel · 04/09/2006 11:14

hi Joje welcome to the thread

email or post his details to some modelling agencies. some charge yet others don't. a good site for information on agencies is www.childmodelling.net as it has contact details and profiles of recommended agencies. a lot on here are with kids london, bruce and brown. mot or urban angels as their fees are minimal yet there are other good ones too yet some charge you an initial assesment fee eg £25 and maybe a years representation fee for website, model book etc this is normally over £100 . Don't go with the first agency which says yes as some take longer than others and maybe better for your child

Good luck in your decisions. Their is a good book about modelling and acting for kids i read it before my ds started as i wanted to know what to expect etc. i will look at what the author is and post shortly.

Yackerty- no we never heard either

Lindic something will come soon- will email you later. just logged in between loading a booking on my system so got to be quick!

mrratty · 04/09/2006 11:18

julie4travel - If I take a really good pic of DD I send it to them for updates, I think you need to update measurements every three months or so too.

thorntons · 04/09/2006 14:25

Hi everyone! Hope you are well. It was dd`s first day at preschool today. She seemed to really enjoy it and she looked very grown up in her uniform!
Julie4travel Re B&B pics.Yes they like you to email/send in updated pics .If they like the pic they update their website etc. HTH.
Good luck with jobs/casting this week

dylansluckymum · 04/09/2006 15:09

hi all, i must tell you our first modelling experience was fantastic!

it was in an absolutely beautiful house in herne hill and Debbie Bliss was there herself! the clothes were so lovely, it truly made me want to take up knitting! there was another baby there, a girl named grace with scallywags that was a bit older than ds. unfortunately she was a bit upset at the whole thing (which was funny cause she was all smiles when the camera wasn't on her) so ds ended up doing a few extra shots with some of the things she was meant to do. i felt really bad for her mum she seemed a bit stressed but they're only babies who knows if they'll have a good or bad day! anyway we ended up staying an hour longer than planned and ds was more or less an angel!

all in all the people were lovely and it was a fab morning. i really hope they end up using some of his photos. it's for a follow-up book of one that's just come out now, so who knows how long these things take?? does anyone know if they use the photos for a book is there an extra fee? cause i'm sure i read that normal terms are that they use the photos for 1 year, surely a book is published a lot longer than that? just curious about how it all works!

bbwbabelisa i'm v sorry to hear about your grandad, mine too is very ill and will likely not make it out of hospital so i really empathise. x

good luck everyone with jobs/castings. hopefully i'll meet some of you on friday and that this cm.net shoot will be as good as the farnborough one!

julie4travel · 04/09/2006 15:10

thorntons- mratty great i will get some photos emailed over to them asap as i am not keen on the one they r using ! although I cant see it and wouldn't have a clue what the page looks like yet i am sure it would help by having a good picture on their.

my dd was supposed to go back to pre school today her first time full time and had a high temp so i had to keep her off, what a great start to the term. my ds wanted to stay off too yet he was not ill whatsoever!

julie4travel · 04/09/2006 15:12

dylansluckymum- congrats with your first job

what time is your appointment on fri? mine is 2pm

dylansluckymum · 04/09/2006 15:24

julie it's at 10.30am. they squeezed ds in at the last minute so i think we're first cause they had planned to start at 11. we'll see how it goes maybe we'll stay and watch for a bit when he's done if it's possible and he's not cranky!
