Child modelling (August) part2

For some reason it is telling me that the thraed is to large to post again.

Mrratty> Im not really sure how they are taking the pics. The location that we have been given is Farnbourgh, I dont know if others have different locations.

BBWBabeLisa i wouldn't be to disheartened, many people actually do get turned down by mot and bruce and brown, how old is your little one? if i was you and your in no hurry why not wait till urban angels open there books, they are up there with b&b and mot and they certainly do get loads of work.

hi julie4travel how's cs going? we deceided to leave cs this time, see how it goes with the girls new agent and maybe try cs in the future if things don't work out, mind you dd1 has already been put forward for a huge film, 1st week too not a bad start!!

cyan shame about channel 5 thingy, shaw something else will pop up soon.

Julie4travel this is DD's first job since she joined b & b a few weeks ago, I think she got accepted the same time as you're son did.

DD was with ES as a baby but I stopped the work for a few years until recently when I went to b & b.

mrratty did you go to the m & s casting ?

Perfumelady, she'll be 8 months in 2 weeks.
Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I've emailed her piccie in to Scallywags, and have made a note of all the others who don't take email applications and will get some snaps sent off. Will keep an eye out for UA opening up applications.
I've put a few piccies into the Mumsnetpix Yahoo Group . If any of you have a spare few minutes I'd really appreciate any advice any of you can give on which pics you'd use (from the ones numbered 1-5).

ahh she is very cute, those pictures are really good, shows her personality! would def send all of those to the modelling agencies as i sent about 5 different pics of my dd when i applied to agencies.

Thanks ellesmum, so are they not too strict on the number of pics? From looking at the web sites they all specify the number of pics they want, KL = 3, TS = 2 etc. If I can send em all I will, coz I can't choose.

i know they say that but i sent five pics of my dd and they never said anything! it is hard choosing which pics to send because you want to show them a variety of your dds looks and try to bring across her personality which is important for them to make a decision.
i think it will be fine to send all of them.

anyway im logging off now will chat tommorow!!

I know it's none of my business but if I was going back to Las Vegas (got married there) I'd definitely stay in one of the cheaper hotels. We stayed at the mirage, and yeh, the room was lovely, but we had to queue from 7am to get a lounger by the pool and it was like sardines. My mum paid half as much as we did and stayed further up the strip at the Sahara, the rooms werent luxurious but they were perfectly functional considering you're in vegas and you're only going to use them to crash in, and the pool was virtually empty. We spent our relaxation time there instead of at our own hotel.

Kyoni Nyoni Films are searching for a young girl to co-star in the upcoming short film ?My Great happiness?

We are casting for the character of a lively seven year old Black African girl. We would like to hear from anyone that knows a little girl who matches this description and is:

Aged between 6 and 9

Able to perform in front of a camera

Able to speak with an African accent

Sociable and energetic

The film will be set in Cardiff and Bath, so it is preferable that any applicants are from around this area or are able to easily travel there.

The shoot date is between 23rd-24th September, and shooting will be in the day only.

The part is for a lead character so it is really important that the little girl is not shy and is comfortable performing in front of the camera.

We aim is to make the film for black history month and for film festival release.

Pay: £80

This is a great opportunity for a young girl who is looking to star in her first role and gain exposure. We will use this short film to gain funding in order to make a longer version of the film in the future.

bbwbabelisa, I also got married in vegas. I agree the smaller places are much better, we have been a couple of times and stayed in a motel once and then a big hotel and actually preferred the motel.which place did you get married?

Cyan, my friends boy got the channel five job, he is just 2.

Ellismummy - we got married in July 04 at the Little Chapel of the Flowers, the one Virgin Holidays use. How bout u? My mum and her partner of 15 years decided to surprise us after our wedding by announcing that they had gone to the courthouse and got a license too and were getting married four days later!

bbwbabe she looks like such a happy baby! i would agree with perfume no. 5 is the best, if you can only send 2 or 3 I'd also go with no. 4 and no. 1.

just found out that the knitwear company the photoshoot is for is debbie bliss. i'm not up on my knitwear but i did a quick google search and she seems pretty big. any knitters opinions??

should i just put him in a plain vest and bottoms? or should i try to really cute him up?? they didn't say anything about it... i guess it doesn't matter as they'll change him but i'd like to make a good first impression!

dylansluckymum - sounds like a good knitting company, bet the pics will be lovely! as soon as you get to the shoot he will be changed into the clothes they want him to wear so i would put something plain on him.

try not to be too nervous and enjoy it!
