restored 80's MyCHILD dolls

even though they are 20 years old, they are lovely dolls. i restore them, and they can still be played with (excepted the african american doll, as she is wigged)

what age are they for?

misdee · 17/08/2006 10:39

i think originally they were for 3+, not too sure. my dd3 plays with them, and carts them about in her buggy. depending on the style of doll and clothing used, i'd be looking for £20-30 per doll (just dont request one with ultra long red or brown hair as they go for over £200)

mmm would be interested for dd but she will only be one.

misdee · 17/08/2006 10:41

junk in my truck. they are mine but i let the kdis paly with them as they are childrens toys. those pics are before and afters, the ebay mess is my latest project. she was actually covered in mold, and her hair was a birds nest. i have spent about a week restoring her.

for a one year old, i'd recommend a short haired one like Ashley, but i dont have any spares of that one atm, am trying to locate one right now for one of my dd's.

dd3 is 18months btw.

I like the fact they are soft bodied so would be better for dd but not sure if she would end up sucking the hair off

JunkInMyTrunk · 17/08/2006 10:43

They look gorgeous, would look better in my house tho

misdee · 17/08/2006 10:44

JunkInMyTrunk · 17/08/2006 10:45

I love the one in the little pink dress with pigtails....but have no pennies

Nemo1977 · 17/08/2006 10:45

Quite like the AShley...how much would she cost and do you put them in actual baby clothes?

misdee · 17/08/2006 10:48

i try to dress them in original clothes or reproduction outfits. i am waiting o na job lot of shoes and socks atm.

If i could source another one like ashley, i will make her new clothes from a pattern i have. it will be a blue checked dungeree and jacket set. she would be £25 or there abouts.

the one in the pink dress is actually in very bad condition overall, so am not happy with selling her. her outfit is all original with original shoes.

Nemo1977 · 17/08/2006 10:50

does the hair pull out easily?

JunkInMyTrunk · 17/08/2006 10:50

would you consider a sswap for anything or do you just love her too much really and can't bear to ley her go?

misdee · 17/08/2006 10:51

well, i have to use tweezers and a whol;e lot of strength to remove the hair lol.dd3 drags them about by their hair.

junk in my truck, if she was in better condition i would sell her, but she really is a disappointment in real life, and not as described on ebay, i was very annoyed when i got her.
