yes and it's lovely - but then I am 8 onths pregnant and hated July

misdee · 12/08/2006 19:39

wet weather confines us to the house though

Hard to believe it's August

foxinsocks · 12/08/2006 19:41

had a children's party today (I was invited as I know the parents quite well) but I hadn't realised it was going to be outside. I was absolutely freezing! I was totally underdressed. Luckily I had brought jackets for the kids but I stood there shivering bbrrrrrr

fingers crossed for no rain on Monday because it's dd's birthday picnic!

expatinscotland · 12/08/2006 19:43

YES! And I LOVE it!

Hope I never feel hot again in my life.

We just put our wellies and waterproofs on and out we go!

We haven't got a garden at all and for a while had no car, so we got used to going out in all weathers. Does wonders for the health, too.

Picked up a lovely Hebridean wool shawl today and can't wait to wear it.

Roll on, Autumn.

I do feel sorry for people who were getting married today though, or had BBQs planned...

expatinscotland · 12/08/2006 19:44

Who plans on getting married outside in Britain, tho?

What's up w/that?

I hate this cold weather, I was getting used to the heat and loving it. Wore socks for the first time in ages and my poor little toes feel all claustrophobic............

LucyJones · 12/08/2006 19:46

Even if you get married inside though you usually have photos outside (specially if it's a church or beautiful castle type place) and just getting from the car to the inside bit would mess your dress, hair etc!!!

expatinscotland · 12/08/2006 19:46

Wish we could move farther north.

misdee · 12/08/2006 19:47

Yes, but the girls can still go out and splash about!

Stick 'em in the garden w/wellies and macs on. Keeps 'em entertained for hours.

1Baby1Bump · 12/08/2006 20:06

misdee · 12/08/2006 20:06

I lopve it too, I detest hot weather and am really looking forward to Sept and rain, lovely!

expatinscotland · 12/08/2006 20:10

Sooo true, WWW! Autumn is my fav season of all.

Winter running a close second.

HATE summer. Always have, even since growing up slowly roasting and sweating to death in a number of sweltering, semi-tropical and tropical locations.

Then I lived in fucking desert where it hardly ever rained.

Nearly drove me mad.

WideWebWitch · 12/08/2006 20:12

EPIS, nice to find someone who feels the same, I instantly cheer up when we get to autumn leaves on the trees and drizzle and being inside while it's lashing down outside, I can't wait. Were you born in autumn? I was, wonder if it's got anything to do with it?

canadianmum · 12/08/2006 20:15

I hate autumn and winter except for Christmas, I adore spring and summer and am a summer baby....you might have something there www

expatinscotland · 12/08/2006 20:15

I was born in February.

I have always just loved rainy, chilly weather, though.

I found a home in Scotland .

Gingerbear · 12/08/2006 20:17

Yup, went out today wearing a FLEECE! ffs, it is August. And I have a stinking cold to boot - old wives tale about it being caused by a change in the weather appears to be true.
