I've been asked to share and ask others to report the page and it really is awful. Facebook are refusing to take it down because it contains no nudity...what do we do?????

Excosetypos- thats exactly what I think mumsnethq shiuld do. contact Facebook and the advertisers etc,

AnyFuckerHQ · 24/02/2014 10:43

I fully expect The Wright Stuff to pick this story up in the next couple of days

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/02/2014 10:43

I hope MNHQ will be rethinking their promotion of Facebook.

BuzzardBird · 24/02/2014 10:45

Strangely enough AF Holly just commented on TM about people calling children 'sexy', think she saw the thread I wonder?

ExcuseTypos · 24/02/2014 10:46

Me too Bore.

How can a parenting site promote FB, when FB doesn't have a system in place to take immediate action against child porn?Confused

fideline · 24/02/2014 10:47

Is that a passive or an active expectation Anyfucker ? Wink

I have a similar expectation of DM

mrsjay · 24/02/2014 10:47

tbf there have been people on my facebook reporting this page as well mumsnetters IYSWIM

FiveExclamations · 24/02/2014 10:54

My Twitter conversation with Lousie of House of Fraser:

@WyrdMother I would recommend contacting FB directly to request they remove the page. Louise

@houseoffraser 1. Thnx, they finally took the page down after hours of persistent reporting. At first they refused, as no actual nudity...

@houseoffraser 2. Sure you appreciate contacting advertisers ramps up actual pressure, especially since Facebooks application of ...

@houseoffraser 3. acceptable content standards are unevenly applied at best see such things as #FBRape campaign. This page should have been.

@houseoffraser 4. ...down at the first report if breast feeding pics and mastectomy scars.

@houseoffraser 5. ...are taken down immediately.

@houseoffraser Considering that Facebook is considered appropriate for 13 and up I believe they should be more pro-active. Don't you?

@WyrdMother I am pleased to hear the page has now been taken down. Have a nice day, Louise.

They at least replied I suppose.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 24/02/2014 10:57

I'm not very technically minded.

Will CEOP and IWF still be able to investigate if teh page has been removed?

AnyFuckerHQ · 24/02/2014 10:58

it will be recoverable by them if necessary, so yes

LadyFlumpalot · 24/02/2014 10:59

Anyone know how to report on mobile internet? I want to copy the link so I can report it but I can't click on it without opening the page. Makes me shudder. One commenter has a friends list full of early teenage girls. Sad

AmyMumsnet · 24/02/2014 11:02

Hi all,

Sorry we didn't take more action last night, as you can imagine a Sunday evening isn't our strongest time for reacting to unfolding campaigns/issues.

We're glad to see the page has been taken down now though, hell hath no fury like Mumsnetters eh?

AnyFuckerHQ · 24/02/2014 11:02

sorry, no

EirikurNoromaour · 24/02/2014 12:14

I emailed tesco CEO with a screenshot of the most prolific poster and his contribution to the page, they replied this morning saying they have passed it to employee relations manager. If he does still work for tesco they will hopefully sack the cunt.

It was on his personal page.

TheGirlFromIpanema · 24/02/2014 12:35

I imagine he listed them as his employer tangy.

Why would he list his real employer?

Lj8893 · 24/02/2014 12:52

Why wouldn't he? He clearly thinks he's not doing anything wrong!

This needs to go even bigger.

If FB are refusing to remove the page then it's time to shame them into removing it.

Keep tweeting, contact news agencies, nspcc, prominent people, MP's etc.

Surely they can't think a page like this is ok? Sad

MamaMary · 24/02/2014 13:10

SO, what, the page hasn't been removed?
