Eh?

Not a soul would appear to be out and about, no one sitting in the parks or the beaches, what's the deal there then?

you can see people! look at bournemouth

colditz · 09/07/2006 16:23

I think tyhe cars you can see were parked, but people move too fast for the imaging. Or something.

suzywong · 09/07/2006 16:25

Nope, forget it. I 'm talking rubbish - Bournemouth beach is crowded

It's FASCINATING isn't it, I could spend all day on it

southeastastra · 09/07/2006 16:27

i love google earth i've spent ages on there

CaptainFlameSparrow · 09/07/2006 17:18

Lol - I was thinking "but I saw people"... then opened the thread - I live in Bournemouth

suzywong · 10/07/2006 15:56

OK
why are there no
aeroplanes
ships
fires
trains
Mongolia - it's all fuzzy as I suspect is Basra and Rhyad

How how how how was this made, I cannot fathom it? I was just looking at an Olympic sized swimming pool in Brasilia. I feel like I have been introduced to crystal meth, it's blowing my mind

We can see our old car on the drive of my parent's house

hulababy · 10/07/2006 20:32

I assume it was made with many many aerial photos.

SenoraPostrophe · 10/07/2006 20:35

aeroplanes - too fast. and presumably the oceans aren't in enough detail to see ships.

you can see our car parked outside out house though!

Twiglett · 10/07/2006 20:39

pmsl .. read title thought 'what a daft tart doesn't she know its just pictures and not real time'

then realised 2 things

  1. people show up in pictures don't they

  2. it was you

and respectively

SoupDragon · 10/07/2006 20:41

Not if they're vampires they don't, Twiglett.

southeastastra · 10/07/2006 21:26

hulababy · 10/07/2006 21:58

Monaco rather

hulababy · 10/07/2006 22:01

There is also a plane either taking off or landing at Nice airport. You can see the plane and it's shadow.

suzywong · 11/07/2006 01:16

It's so interesting
I haven't enabled all the layers and thins yet.
I had a look at Singapore and when you fly over it the see is clogged with tankers and container ships, maybe they were removed due to commercial secrecy or something but they are gone.

It's freaky seeing your car outside houses isn't it, and it opens up so many questions and qualities of time and space; I told ds1 to look for DH's, very distincitve, car oustide our old flat in Highagte. He said ' how can it be outside the old house and outside in the driveway at the same time ( we shipped it over)" Cue explaining time to a 5 year old

mawbroon · 11/07/2006 09:13

My MIL is on it with her dog!!!

southeastastra · 11/07/2006 09:23

part of britain (and the world) are still blurry, i found it hard to locate specific places in australia, there is still alot of the world google has to do

titchy · 11/07/2006 09:49

Anyone know how often photoes are updated? My village is crystal clear right up to 20 yards away from my house - then just blur! Typical! and how old are the pictures, weeks old, months old, years old?

Fascinating stuff - dh is gonna love it!

SoupDragon · 11/07/2006 09:52

I can't work out when the photos were done - the cars outside our current house (and parked inthe road) are unfamiliar, as are those at our old house. And there's something large and red in our garden which I don't think I recognise!

My parent's house is all blurry
