Reports of Zombie's demise...

IamtheZombie · 30/09/2013 16:56

have been greatly exaggerated. She may be a wee bit battered and bruised, but she bends and doesn't break.

Most of you probably know her back story but, for those who don't, here's a very brief recap:

The last 2 1/2 years have been absolutely horrendous: family crises, a breast cancer diagnosis and 20 months of treatment for that, bereavements and sorting out her late MIL's estate. As you can imagine, she found it a struggle at times.

Just under a year ago, DZOH began an "inappropriate" on-line relationship with a woman he "met" playing scrabble on Facebook. At the time he was spending most of his time at his mum's house in Nottingham sorting things out and putting it on the market. The on-line relationship fairly quickly progressed to a full blown physical affair. The woman lives in Wales and he would pay her train fare to come to Nottingham to see him. Zombie was fully aware of everything that was going on and tried to do everything she could to save her marriage. He left Zombie in mid-February, first staying in Nottingham before moving in with her in mid-March. He continued to come back to DDS to take Zombie to her hospital treatments. In mid-May he started making reference to coming back to her. He finally did so in mid-August. Two weeks after he came back they went to Kos for a fortnight. Halfway through the holiday he told her that he was leaving as soon as they returned to the UK. Which he duly did on Friday, 13th September.

Zombie went through all the trauma, drama and devastation between October and August. That is behind her. She's relieved that that it is finally over. A few nights ago she realised that she was sitting here completely relaxed and smiling for no reason. It's as though an enormous weight has been lifted from her.

She's currently packing up his belongings, deciding what she needs to replace, etc. He will come with a man and a van in a few weeks time to remove everything. There are obviously other pracicalities to be sorted out but they are doing so in as amicable a manner as possible.

Can Zombie please ask those of you who are Facebook friends with her NOT to say anything publicly on there about any of this.

Onwards and upwards. Wink

Need to do a reality check! thanks for posting back

ExcuseTypos · 25/01/2014 21:04

Sans, its aright, I don't know anything about your kneeGrin

It was about how awful M&S bras are and no wonderful the bra ladies are on MN.

sanssoleil · 25/01/2014 21:25

I titally concur with the awfulness of M&S Bras and I got kicked out of the special enclave when my sister got fitted-It was hysterically excruciating and they were all called Brenda/Valerie/Bev-comfort namesGrin

Might take a trip to the bra ladies now, thanksWine

sanssoleil · 25/01/2014 21:26

BEJEEZUS *Totally

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/01/2014 23:33

Titally that was accidental? Grin

Wedding news - people replying to the bride, not the hosts (us), 80 people have replied one way or another, one close family member is moaning about flying, about cost, about exams, and still hasn't said yes or no. We have rooms set aside in various places but they won't hold them beyond end of this month and we're trying to place everyone in nice groups.

Another family member has asked if son's girlfriend can come as other son can't. That would mean another 7 other halves should be included.

So nothing too juicy really. Plans progressing well, venue is lovely.

But I'm getting nowhere with my outfit. Veering towards wide leg trousers and boxy jacket at the moment. Would love to find a dress that looked good on me but don't think it's possible.

sol you're lovely to go cook for a charity with your knee still ropey, sorry it's no better.
Wine

sanssoleil · 26/01/2014 00:03

Wish I felt lovely, but v kind of you Bee and yes typo to typo was a fuck-up

I just can't do formaloccasion so feel your pain-love boxy jackets but I am too short for palazzos

Difficult to stand up atm but I am teaching people and do a far bit of 'intervention'-has inspired me to write loads of recipes out and for significant numbers and substitutions if exact ingredients not available

Have been watching BenefitSt with despair, know someone who worked in post production and feel like starting up a twitter account just to reveal her address and invite people to go shit on her doorstep as she has been royally payed for her sub Leni Reifenstahl poverty porn....

However I am not a troll folderol so am just basking in my phantasy-I definitely need a wedding to organise don't I? Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/01/2014 00:31

I used to live in 4" stillettos, and yes that is downside to wide trousers - would have to wear heels. Suppose I could practice round the house with dressing gown Grin.

Had a bit of Benefit St. foisted on me, seems very contradictory and the presentation just doesn't ring true.

Really nice to see you Sol.

Have to crash now.

Night Zombie xx

night night Zombie

Best thread ever xx

Afternoon! Zombie hopes everyone is well today. She is fine but she does wish this rain and wind would bugger off. She fears she may be soon trapped in ChezZombie as the doors are swollen. She can't open the front door at all and the back door is a struggle. She may soon be forced to use a window!!

Love to all. Wink

Yikes! You're not likely to be flooded are you? Hope not.

If you need me and my sledgehammer just shout Grin

You could try drying the door with a hairdryer?

IamtheZombie · 26/01/2014 23:43

Flooding highly unlikely, Bewitched, as ChezZombie is in an elevated position. Also garden slopes away so little chance of standing water. Zombie doubts a hairdryer would be sufficient to dry out enough to help. Just one of the joys of living in a 200+ yo house.

If Zombie can get out of the house tomorrow, she'll bring one of the axes from the woodshed inside. Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 27/01/2014 23:14

I have this vision of you sitting by your fire, cats on lap, whisky in one hand, puffing on a rolly, with your trusty axe resting on the arm of your chair Grin.

Doesn't look like there's going to be any improvement does it?

DD had early flight so been up since 4.30am Shock

Stay warm. x

IamtheZombie · 28/01/2014 19:32

Bewitched, did you plant a web cam in Zombie's lounge? Grin

Zombie managed to get out of the house today and was rewarded with lots and lots of cuddles with a 4 week old baby. Now she wants one.

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 28/01/2014 23:58

Erm, no, you don't. You really don't Grin

Just be really, stupendously fabulous friends with that one (and its parents obvs.) Borrow it, babysit for it, and then go home to your cats and your whisky.

Trust me.

No web cam, honest.

IamtheZombie · 29/01/2014 00:09

But, but, but...

Baby is soooooo adorable. And snuggly. And smells lovely and new. And she's warm. AND she liked her Auntie Zombie.

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 29/01/2014 14:07

Ah yes, I'm sure she's gorgeous, but they're not all like that.

And they don't stay like that.

And you can't really nick that one, now can you? Grin

BearBearBear

IamtheZombie · 29/01/2014 18:27

Sigh. Zombie knows you're right, Bewitched. There's just nothing like the feeling of a young baby in ones arms.

Zombie shall just have to cultivate more friends of child bearing age.

Any progress with your MotB outfit?

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 29/01/2014 19:22

Zombie is right too, it is a wonderful feeling Smile

Maybe Zombie should start a creche. Newborn to six months only!

My turn to Sigh. I'm at either going to London, having a Personal Shopper, and therefore probably spending a fortune. Or having something made.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 30/01/2014 18:27

FlowersBearFlowersBearFlowersBearFlowersBearFlowers

Son and Hubsibobs are away tonight. Needed something stronger than the usual rosé so nicked some of son's vodka.
Took big swig, bleurgh! Bloody stuff has cinnamon in it, I wanted a cool, sharp hit, tres disappointing.

IamtheZombie · 30/01/2014 21:49

Zombie likes cinnamon. But not in vodka.

She has another RL day tomorrow that involves an early start so she will be off to bed very, very soon.

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 31/01/2014 00:08

Well exactly Grin

Goodnight, sleep well.
