Reports of Zombie's demise...

have been greatly exaggerated. She may be a wee bit battered and bruised, but she bends and doesn't break.

Most of you probably know her back story but, for those who don't, here's a very brief recap:

The last 2 1/2 years have been absolutely horrendous: family crises, a breast cancer diagnosis and 20 months of treatment for that, bereavements and sorting out her late MIL's estate. As you can imagine, she found it a struggle at times.

Just under a year ago, DZOH began an "inappropriate" on-line relationship with a woman he "met" playing scrabble on Facebook. At the time he was spending most of his time at his mum's house in Nottingham sorting things out and putting it on the market. The on-line relationship fairly quickly progressed to a full blown physical affair. The woman lives in Wales and he would pay her train fare to come to Nottingham to see him. Zombie was fully aware of everything that was going on and tried to do everything she could to save her marriage. He left Zombie in mid-February, first staying in Nottingham before moving in with her in mid-March. He continued to come back to DDS to take Zombie to her hospital treatments. In mid-May he started making reference to coming back to her. He finally did so in mid-August. Two weeks after he came back they went to Kos for a fortnight. Halfway through the holiday he told her that he was leaving as soon as they returned to the UK. Which he duly did on Friday, 13th September.

Zombie went through all the trauma, drama and devastation between October and August. That is behind her. She's relieved that that it is finally over. A few nights ago she realised that she was sitting here completely relaxed and smiling for no reason. It's as though an enormous weight has been lifted from her.

She's currently packing up his belongings, deciding what she needs to replace, etc. He will come with a man and a van in a few weeks time to remove everything. There are obviously other pracicalities to be sorted out but they are doing so in as amicable a manner as possible.

Can Zombie please ask those of you who are Facebook friends with her NOT to say anything publicly on there about any of this.

Onwards and upwards. Wink

Hello all, I'm back, I missed you all!

How horribly inappropriate for ZOH to ask you to pray for anyone associated with that woman, I'm really sorry you've had that dumped on you Zombie and I don't think you should feel shame for your feelings.
Of course you don't wish the baby any harm. He should not have involved you Angry

No menu decisions yet sol. We're going to Portugal later in January to get up to speed with everything, including checking out various restaurants who are candidates for the catering.
It's gonna be tough Grin

Fid hope you're having a wonderful time and don't get caught up in the storms.

EXOH is not being reasonable.

Bewitched, welcome back and thank you for your kind words. Baby was moved yesterday to a specialist unit somewhere. Apparently now in no immediate danger. Fid, is fine and is indeed enjoying her visit. We had a long chat on the phone earlier this evening, and, we are making PLANS...

magi, thank you as well. As you've posted, you've found where the thread has found its permanent home.

Zombie may be slightly tipsy but she just wants to say how much she loves all of you.

Am v much enjoying being home. Feel much more relaxed, like a pressure cooker when the valve's off.

And I did have a lovely chat with Zombie last night, I was a bit giddy and excited Grin

Other highlights: tea & custard creams for breakfast, mince pies (with my mum's homemade mincemeat) and cream on tap and, the joy of bacon sandwiches and having a proper paper newspaper delivered.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 30/12/2013 17:29

Wish I could help

Glad you are being treated by your mum xx

Fiderer · 30/12/2013 20:35

sans you're so kind to think of that. For all my gripes about shopping in Germany (mainly lack of internet supermarket shopping) Amazon.de has a really good English section & if I can't find something I want I find the ISBN number and enter that and it comes up. Frequently cheaper than in the UK too.

Ditto DVDs and our calendar for 2014, Doctor Who.

Having slobby, boozy night at home - bliss after all the rushing around and chaos.

I hope 2014 brings all you hope for Zombie xx

Happy New Year to everyone Grin

IamtheZombie · 31/12/2013 19:11

Now that Zombie thinks about it, Fid definitely had the accent to be royal. Well spotted, soleil.

Zombie and the ZombieCats are all settled down to see in the new year. They will drink water and Zombie will drink a bottle of champagne. All. on. her. own.

Thanks, Bewitched. Zombie wishes the same for you and for all who post or lurk on this thread.

Hope Fid is starting the conga round the royal grounds!

Fiderer · 31/12/2013 19:57

Bugger off you lot with the royal shite - I'm Irish Grin And yes having been exiled to this green and pleasant land at a young age I don't sound Irish any more. But there's more to Norfolk than royalty.

I like the lavender fields. And Norwich really is "A Fine City".

sanssoleil · 31/12/2013 20:20

Mea Maxima Culpa

I started the vicious rumourSad

Nothing green and pleasant around hereGrin

But at least start a conga for me!

Fiderer · 31/12/2013 20:33

I might well do that later sans. We're keeping my mum company tonight and a conga might liven things up.

I am still rather shocked after visiting Mr Sainsbury's emporium this morning. I searched and I asked and enquiries were made but - no Jelly Beans were for sale. What has become of England? All manner and variety of international confectionery on offer but not a bean.

sanssoleil · 31/12/2013 20:46

they had a big bull made outta jellybeanz in our Selfridges!

I always bite the head off a jellybaby
