Reports of Zombie's demise...

have been greatly exaggerated. She may be a wee bit battered and bruised, but she bends and doesn't break.

Most of you probably know her back story but, for those who don't, here's a very brief recap:

The last 2 1/2 years have been absolutely horrendous: family crises, a breast cancer diagnosis and 20 months of treatment for that, bereavements and sorting out her late MIL's estate. As you can imagine, she found it a struggle at times.

Just under a year ago, DZOH began an "inappropriate" on-line relationship with a woman he "met" playing scrabble on Facebook. At the time he was spending most of his time at his mum's house in Nottingham sorting things out and putting it on the market. The on-line relationship fairly quickly progressed to a full blown physical affair. The woman lives in Wales and he would pay her train fare to come to Nottingham to see him. Zombie was fully aware of everything that was going on and tried to do everything she could to save her marriage. He left Zombie in mid-February, first staying in Nottingham before moving in with her in mid-March. He continued to come back to DDS to take Zombie to her hospital treatments. In mid-May he started making reference to coming back to her. He finally did so in mid-August. Two weeks after he came back they went to Kos for a fortnight. Halfway through the holiday he told her that he was leaving as soon as they returned to the UK. Which he duly did on Friday, 13th September.

Zombie went through all the trauma, drama and devastation between October and August. That is behind her. She's relieved that that it is finally over. A few nights ago she realised that she was sitting here completely relaxed and smiling for no reason. It's as though an enormous weight has been lifted from her.

She's currently packing up his belongings, deciding what she needs to replace, etc. He will come with a man and a van in a few weeks time to remove everything. There are obviously other pracicalities to be sorted out but they are doing so in as amicable a manner as possible.

Can Zombie please ask those of you who are Facebook friends with her NOT to say anything publicly on there about any of this.

Zombie nearly slept the clock around last night. She thinks she's feeling a bit better today. At least she isn't sneezing and her nose has slowed down.

Wow, it's years since I've done that. Always find it very disorientating.

Zombie should be OK tonight, Bewitched. She refrained from slipping up for a wee nap earlier so should be ready for bed at a reasonable time. She's leaving the whisky alone tonight. Naughty whisky.

Zombie was indeed snoozing very nicely at 01:05, Bewitched. She snoozed through until about 08:45. So far she's feeling quite chipper today.

Well, chipper is certainly better than dripper!

Off out for lunch with an old friend, might just look for something new to wear on Saturday ... squeeeeee!

Neighbour is a doctor and his wife was Physio-so I bypassed the joy that is my local A&E-pretty used to sport/dance injuries in my lost youth so have all the necessary braces/splints

Zombies whiskey is safe as I am a very cheapdate these days

I do need to buy some grown-up clothes though-The DM did a bit of a hatchetjob on H B-C a few months back and my lovely sister and a friend pointed out that she had been playing dress-up in my wardrobe-They were not wrong

I've not been here very long so am not really aware of you, Zombie. That is such a bloody lot to go through though and your post remained upbeat despite the bad news. You are clearly a legend.

Sounds like you had a good sleep then Zombie - certainly better than I did!

DS2 decided that he would like to be up and doing at 5:50am today. I don't do that time of day/night. So we had a disagreement about it (he's 13mo) which I, naturally, won in the end but only after he'd been shouting in the cot for 45mins. He's so different from DS1 - he would usually sleep through until about 8am, 7:30 at the earliest!

Morning.

Zombie hopes everyone is well today.

She's had a couple of lazyish days and long nights' sleep. She appears to now just have the aftermath of the cold - mucousy sinuses draining into her chest overnight so the first half an hour after she gets up there's a fair amount of nose-blowing, coughing and spluttering. Otherwise she's feeling pretty good.

She's off to do some shopping today for her Christmas Appeal recipient. Should be great fun!
