Reports of Zombie's demise...

IamtheZombie · 30/09/2013 16:56

have been greatly exaggerated. She may be a wee bit battered and bruised, but she bends and doesn't break.

Most of you probably know her back story but, for those who don't, here's a very brief recap:

The last 2 1/2 years have been absolutely horrendous: family crises, a breast cancer diagnosis and 20 months of treatment for that, bereavements and sorting out her late MIL's estate. As you can imagine, she found it a struggle at times.

Just under a year ago, DZOH began an "inappropriate" on-line relationship with a woman he "met" playing scrabble on Facebook. At the time he was spending most of his time at his mum's house in Nottingham sorting things out and putting it on the market. The on-line relationship fairly quickly progressed to a full blown physical affair. The woman lives in Wales and he would pay her train fare to come to Nottingham to see him. Zombie was fully aware of everything that was going on and tried to do everything she could to save her marriage. He left Zombie in mid-February, first staying in Nottingham before moving in with her in mid-March. He continued to come back to DDS to take Zombie to her hospital treatments. In mid-May he started making reference to coming back to her. He finally did so in mid-August. Two weeks after he came back they went to Kos for a fortnight. Halfway through the holiday he told her that he was leaving as soon as they returned to the UK. Which he duly did on Friday, 13th September.

Zombie went through all the trauma, drama and devastation between October and August. That is behind her. She's relieved that that it is finally over. A few nights ago she realised that she was sitting here completely relaxed and smiling for no reason. It's as though an enormous weight has been lifted from her.

She's currently packing up his belongings, deciding what she needs to replace, etc. He will come with a man and a van in a few weeks time to remove everything. There are obviously other pracicalities to be sorted out but they are doing so in as amicable a manner as possible.

Can Zombie please ask those of you who are Facebook friends with her NOT to say anything publicly on there about any of this.

Onwards and upwards. Wink

Hi, Thumbwitch, and thanks. It's lovely to see you.

Bursitis is highly unlikely. The physios think it may be referred pain from elsewhere in my spine. That makes sense as Zombie has previously seen an osteopath and been totally pain free for at least 6 months after each treatment.

Zombie got some good news today! Her smear result was NORMAL! Also, there's no evidence of infection with either of the 2 strains of HPV likely to cause cervical cancer. Grin Grin Grin

Thumbwitch · 13/11/2013 23:08

Hurrah for good news! Grin

Good that they've ruled out the bursitis then; has anyone suggested you get a gym ball for stabilising your core muscles and pelvis then? I had one (well I've still got it somewhere but it's in a box that I still haven't unpacked after 4.5y in Australia Blush) and it did help with stabilising my desperately pathetically unstable pelvis, which causes me sciatica and referred pain all over the place, and SPD last pg as well.

Or - could you go back to the osteopath?

TheDoctrineOfWho · 13/11/2013 23:19

Yay for good news!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 13/11/2013 23:22

Hurrah indeed!
Have no experience so have no sensible, informed help or advice like Thumb has.
However, I know good news when I see it, and I can do celebration.

IamtheZombie · 14/11/2013 11:57

Thanks for that, Thumbwitch. No, no one has yet suggested that. Zombie just has exercises to do every day. She'll ask the physio the next time she sees her.

Thanks, TheDoctrine.

Oooh, lovely celebration, Bewitched. Thanks!

Cheese hunting will be tomorrow, sans. The cheese van isn't there today.

Aw, thanks you two, you're so lovely.
I'm cooking up a storm, to be scoffed soon after 8 o'clock so hardly a hardship fast really Grin
The main trick will be no wine, which normally wouldn't be a problem much but DD won't be here til gone midnight Shock
She and her DF have lived together for 6 years so, yes, we know him really well. They work with horses and come here to teach about every 2 months.

But you do realise that this means I will be a Mother In Law

I'm really touched that you responded so quickly, it was a lovely, heartwarming surprise.

Hope Zombie is warm and snuggly tonight, brrrrrrrrrrr! Bear

IamtheZombie · 14/11/2013 20:41

Shall Zombie drink some wine for you, Bewitched?

She is very toasty indeed, thanks. She hopes it won't be quite so bitter tomorrow.

sanssoleil · 15/11/2013 11:40

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/11/2013 15:29

They've gone off to prepare for the event they're running for the week-end Sad but we'll go and watch on Sunday, hope it's sunny.

Just going to get dressed for a wedding reception tonight, and then we're back over at the windmill tomorrow.

That sounds tricky sans, the MIL bit, not the pringle-shard.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/11/2013 22:48

Well, that was lovely. Very low key, lots of love swilling around.
And they obviously adore each other.

What plans have you lot got for the week-end?
Is this your cheese market Zombie?

Why aren't you coming to the meet up sans?

My 2nd room-mate has dropped out so we have a spare bed.
That may make the prospect worse rather than better Grin !

sanssoleil · 15/11/2013 23:04

I hope Zombie had a good day and we hear her news WineAs for meet-ups ....I am not too good at doing RLSad but thanks for the promptSmile

IamtheZombie · 15/11/2013 23:47

Evening all.

Zombie should have gone to the market today but a couple of emails and early phone calls required her attention. By the time she'd finished sorting everything out it was too late to go. She can't go tomorrow either as she's heading off in one direction at 9.30 to be somewhere for 11.00, leaving there at 12.30 to double back(ish) and be in Shrewsbury at 2.00 for a local MN meet up. Cheese hunt will need to wait until next Friday. Sorry, sans.

sans, do think about the meet up. You know Zombie and Bewitched. Zombie does have lengthy FB chats and phone calls with another MNer who will be there but otherwise she doesn't know anyone.

IamtheZombie · 16/11/2013 00:40

Zombie will be out all day tomorrow, sans, but she will check her inbox as soon as she gets home. xx

OP posts:
BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/11/2013 00:42

Hope the meet up went well Zombie.
Who was there? How many were there? Did you have cheese? Grin

Hope your emails and calls were positive and not draining.

No,sans, I live in quite a boring terraced house in Brighton, but DH/our business has bought into a project that includes a converted windmill, so we are going to spend week-ends there so that we can decide how to develop the project.

But, I did live in Amsterdam for 2 years and we did have mice!

So you're cooking for a Refugee Kitchen Charity, but you're not too good at doing Real Life. That sounds like a bit of a contradiction to me.

Whereabouts do you live? I'm guessing not still in the land of no daylight?
