howdy just an update - dont want to appear to up mi own arse.

so a while ago - 3 months or so - dh was losing his job end of contract - and spending all his time on pretend wizards at home on teh computer becuase he wasnt going into work - becuase it was the end of the contract and he worked on his own so no one gave a shit - and he was still being paid and we had this big to do becuae he wasn't finding a job and spending all his time with invisible wizards.

as you may know he got a job - 6 month contract. the contract has been extended to 3 years and he gets a very much needed pay rise as this was the only job going and he took a 4 - 5k pay cut to get a job. he is flourishing and everyone thinks he is the dogs bollocks and this is good for his ego

this in turn has lessened his dependency on invisible wizards and the obsession in in proportion with my mumsnet time - so all is good - most of the time.

thank you for all your support and advice it was uch appreciated i was one spit from kicking him out onhis arse. but everything is all good now. thnaks

That's brilliant, custardo. I don't think I posted on your thread as I didn't have anything useful to say, but I did read it all and I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how things had turned out.

Gingerbear · 13/06/2006 15:29

Those little wizards are worse than MN.

I'm very glad for you and your dh Custy.

Scummy once said a very true thing (well she often says very true things, but this particular one stuck with me). She (and I bet lots of us) use Mumsnt much more when there are problems in our lives, not to discuss the problems, but to put off thinking about them whilst pretending to be very active - it's a very easy form of procrastination. Maybe this was your dh's equivalent.

tamum · 13/06/2006 15:46

That's really great news custy, well done to both of you. (Am also lolling about the invisible wizards a bit, like visible ones would have been better :o)

JanH · 13/06/2006 15:46

Pretend wizards = pretend friends on MN, oo Grin

Great news about the contract extension and pay rise, custy!

oliveoil · 13/06/2006 15:47
Shock

are you not all real then?

tamum · 13/06/2006 15:48

That would mean that there were real wizards typing messages to custy's dh then, eh.....

Marina · 13/06/2006 15:49

Wondered how things were panning out but as you have been on coruscating form on here lately I thought you must be OK :).
