What music do you listen to when you want to chill?

I'm just sitting here listen to the soulful tunes of Al Green - the sun's shining, I'm feeling sleep deprived and his soothing voice is making me feel like having a kip!

What music do you listen to when you want to relax?

At the moment it's reggae for me... goes perfectly with the sun and reminds me of my 'good old days'

Either that or a bit of Chilli Peppers!

foxinsocks · 12/05/2006 11:07

ooh yes, reggae very good in this weather!

zephyrcat · 12/05/2006 11:11

I need to get it too..although I'm still listening to californication as if it was new!!

Ledodgyherring · 12/05/2006 11:13

I listen to them all over and over I really love them and the dani California video rocks.

acnebride · 12/05/2006 11:13

mmm al green

must admit i have a strong tendency to put on 'the karma collection' i.e. dodgy double cd of vaguely asian-influenced chart-level chillout, that came out about 4 years ago in a flock-covered case

lucky i wasn't ever cool but that would have been it, if i ever had been

buffythenappyslayer · 12/05/2006 11:13

i downloaded some of the new chili peppers album from i tunes (and the dani california video which i think is great)

buffythenappyslayer · 12/05/2006 11:16

Ledodgyherring · 12/05/2006 11:17

foxinsocks · 12/05/2006 11:18

buffythenappyslayer · 12/05/2006 11:23

i'll share him with you!!!id prefer billie joe armstrong!!!

Ledodgyherring · 12/05/2006 11:25

Urgh you can have Billy Jo all to yourself. His music is great but he doesn't do anything for me.

MrsBadger · 12/05/2006 11:26

I have trouble finding music that is relaxed but not miserable, if that makes sense. Too much of the slow/quiet music about is just depressing!

if daytime, Norah Jones, Beth Orton, (recently) the new Jack Johnson album or possibly the Thrills
if later, Gomez or Aqualung or something similar

zephyrcat · 12/05/2006 11:26

whats the new album called? Might have to look up the track listing and go and do a cheeky download! Blush Grin

buffythenappyslayer · 12/05/2006 11:26

Jessajam · 12/05/2006 11:29

I don't have chill out music...>
I have cheer up/energising music or blasting in car on sunny day music
Stuff like Goldfinger, Biffy Clyro, Billy Talent and the mix tape DH made me of loads of punk/underground/hardcore bands for when I couldn't take anouther second of Scott Mills.
