up the road, an hour and a half ago, and has obviously gone to the pub? Without even taking his mobile phone?

is their a pool table in the pub? if yes, then no

Greensleeves · 05/05/2006 18:11

Yes, I would be well pissed off.

PinkKerPlink · 05/05/2006 18:12

On a sunny day like today, I'd be counting my blessings if he did.

carla · 05/05/2006 18:17

Yes, but I didn't know it would be an hour and a half to myself. And I might've fancied the pub garden too, but pound to a penny, he won't be sitting in it. What if he's killed them both?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 05/05/2006 18:18

Um, does he have a history of killing them both?

Seriously, I'd be enjoying the time off, or cooking, or sleeping or something.

carla · 05/05/2006 18:20

But don't you think it would have been the responsible/kind thing to do to let me know in advance? Not just b*er off with them?

OP posts:
Greensleeves · 05/05/2006 18:21

I do think it's very inconsiderate. My dh and I consult each other before one of us goes out or takes the children out. It's just basic manners.

SaintGeorge · 05/05/2006 18:21

If it was a school night, half past late and still no sign of them I would be bothered.

Stop wittering and enjoy the peace Smile

babyonboard · 05/05/2006 18:40

lol...
i only read the thread title..so hope theres not an 'and then...' to this..

i would indeed be angry ..the postoffice is a nasty corporation..with an unfair stronghold on our mail services..

sparklemagic · 05/05/2006 18:56

Notquitecockney, you owe me a new pair of trousers as I have pissed myself laughing at your "Does he have a history of killing them both?"

genius, you are...

sparklemagic · 05/05/2006 18:57

oh, and if it's the post office he's gone to he's probably still in the queue, not the pub!!

birdsnest · 05/05/2006 19:07

Hi Carla is he back yet? I would be pretty miffed actually.Drives me a bit mad when people who should be contactable aren't. Also I wouldnt like to think of them all having a jolly time in the pub without me.
I would try to be magnanimous when he did get home.No point turning a rotten evening into a rotten night.

zippitippitoes · 05/05/2006 19:09

Do ypou suspect he is being intentionally annoying..or just his bumbklinmg self?

compo · 05/05/2006 19:10

presumably he has told you that's where he is otherwise how do you know?

I suspect she knows where he is because he's done exactly the same before.

I can understand Carla's annoyance, this isn't the first time she's complained about him doing this kind of thing without showing her the courtesy of bothering to let her know. I think it's a respect thing - if he's going to bugger off for a couple of hours, surely the respectful thing would be to let Carla know, so that she can enjoy the peace and quiet without worrying when they're not back at the expected time.

are they back yet carla?

carla · 05/05/2006 20:23

I was worrying myself so went down to check at 7.00pm. Of course they were there ......

OP posts:
babyonboard · 05/05/2006 20:29

don't want this to sound harsh but maybe he just wanted time alone with the tots, away from you and out of the house with them?
fair enough he should have told you if that was so, but still..
