I think the proper way of pronouncing quiche here in Ireland is spuds... I could be wrong ....

There is no word for quiche as Gaeilge. Potatoes are pratai. (I don't know how to do fadas). Its a pity though. There is no irish word for clique either. Yet there are mad crazy words, like balls translates to liathroidi.

Is it wrong that I have never eaten quiche in my life ... Or pizza !!

Stupid foreign fancy food....

Report
WorraLiberty · 19/01/2013 23:21

To tell the truth my Mum would have more likely said...

"Quiche? Quiche? since when did you get so feckin grand? You'll have the soup and soda bread like the rest of us!" Grin

waltermittymissus · 19/01/2013 23:22

Gasp!

You've never had pizza? You haven't lived!

Report
Bez00 · 19/01/2013 23:22

How have you avoided pizza? Its the most amazing food in the world. It can be plain, just a bit of cheese, or fancy with different cured meats, or exotic roasted veg. And you can eat it with your hands. No need for plates. And goes with every booze imaginable.

WorraLiberty · 19/01/2013 23:23

A world without pizza is not one I want to be a part of

waltermittymissus · 19/01/2013 23:24

"Can't be holdin with that foreign stuff at all, at all".

"It's far from quiche you were raised madam".

That's what I'd get! Grin

It was new and exotic, and i used my student loan to full effect wisely! Grin

My parents sniff at "foreighn food", no matter how much i try (sigh)
Meat and 2 veg and spuds is the only food that matters!
