Good luck Mimi!!!! :)

Izzi - Shame about the casting! Something else should come along soon though.

The Next shoot went well. DS will be in the Autumn/Winter catalogue as "room dressing". He had a great time. (I did too...sat around drinking coffee and reading the papers.) Leaving on Monday for the holiday worked out very well - we didn't have the "panic packing" experience as we had the weekend to sort ourselves out. Far more relaxing!!!!

Did a Monsoon casting yesterday morning and will wait and see. How long does it normally take to hear whether or not your LO is successful or not?

Hope everyone had a restful school holiday! I am happy to be back online to see how everyone is doing!

perfumelady · 19/04/2006 10:33

izzy shame about casting did they say what it was for?

2manypimms, i think the yes or no phone call varies, i guess it will depend on when the actual shoot will be, must admit any casting we've been to we've heard with in two or three days. glad the next shoot went well, i get the catalogue so will look out for it, mind you don't mean to be thick what is "room dressing" i guessing bedrooms with child in picture? bet i got it completly wrong.

7up · 19/04/2006 10:39

im intrigued as to what "room dressing" is , i must be a div as well!

izzyrubi · 19/04/2006 11:17

2ManyPimms >> long time no see, hope you're well and that you enjoyed the holidays! Glad to hear the shoot went well, fingers crossed for the Monsoon job!

Perfumelady >> I asked her not to tell me what it was for so I wouldn't feel bad if it's something really nice! TBH I'm a bit worried about the whole MMR issue and I know I'm just going to use this casting as an excuse, it's just a casting, I shouldn't be bothered, really, but I am... does it make any sense?
Have you heard about dd's jobs?

AllieBongo · 19/04/2006 11:21

i reckon "room dressing" is for the furniture bit, and they are hovering around to give the impression of a lovely family with lovely next furniture!

izzyrubi · 19/04/2006 11:54

Who else is with IK here other than my dd and tigeryuan's ds?

7up · 19/04/2006 12:09

allie, hows dd face, any better, uk?you not been on here, missed you.x after yesterdays casting ive emailed back and forth to lisa and decided to leave liams modelling careerGrin till hes at least in nursery and praps not so clingy

2ManyPimms · 19/04/2006 12:45

DS had to play with a few toys in immaculate, well-coordinated rooms! Just like in real life! (NOT!!!) :o

perfumelady · 19/04/2006 13:29

izzy are you not having much luck with ik?

mykidsmum have you seen your kids names on this months u/a show off show off

cyan · 19/04/2006 15:05

hiya all just got back from a mothercare casting am soooo tired now!

razzamatazz · 19/04/2006 15:16

I just got back from the C&G casting so feeling shattered too! How did yours go?

My dd really enjoyed ours as she loves watching other children. It was good fun for both of us whatever happens.

Izzy - good luck with MMR tomorrow. I didn't think the injection was half as bad as I thought it was going to be. My dd only cried when she had the injection but was fine after a cuddle. I was sad for ages after. Shame about the casting but at least you've got your priorities right.

tinkerbellchelle · 19/04/2006 15:26

hope both your castings bring good results and the same for any others who've had castings today.

mimi > when your back you must let us know how the shoot went? Was it for TV or print?

quiet on the modelling front but linda emailed to confirm LO's updated pics and said she hopes there are things in the pipeline.... fingers crossed

My friends boyfriend cheated on her last night so DP has LO and we're gonna share a bottle of wine and have a good old chat :)

razzamatazz · 19/04/2006 15:30

Thanks Tinkerbell! We'll see.

Sorry to hear about your friend. A bottle of wine and a good chat is just what she needs!

tinkerbellchelle · 19/04/2006 15:37

yeah we'll have a good old giggle in the end Im sure bless her. She's just so in love with him :(

keep us updated on your casting! xx

izzyrubi · 19/04/2006 15:47

Cyan >> that sounds nice, let us know how you get on!

Razza >> I know it's probably the pregnancy hormones but whenever I think about this MMR I start crying!! I hate seeing my dd so happy and full of life and know that she'll have to suffer tomorrow... I talked to my mom today and I'm sure we have to do it, my dh will go in with her otherwise I will freak out, but I still feel really guilty and bad... we'll see tomorrow!

Tink >> Sorry about your friend, I've been there (my ex cheated on me before i met dh!) and it's not nice at all... hope you can cheer her up a little.

Perfumelady >> We're fine with them although we haven't had masses of things I still think it's early days but I'm actually looking for someon who's willing to share their experience :)

7up >> Did you really give up on it? Awww the world will be missing out, maybe when he gets a bit older!

mythumbelinas · 19/04/2006 15:52

izzy, does sound like pregnancy hormones. I'm sure it will just be a short cry and she will be just fine :)

cyan, fingers crossed for the mothercare casting!

razzamatazz · 19/04/2006 15:58

Izzy, she'll be fine I'm sure and about five minutes afterwards, she'll probably have forgotten about it. The vaccine really didn't start to have an effect on my dd until about 3-5 days afterwards and even that wasn't anything major just a slight temperature and not eating so much.

lanismum · 19/04/2006 16:20

hello everyone, just got in from cow and gate casting, (finished ages ago but i went to my mums after) im not very hopeful lani will get it, there were loads of lovely kids there, and i had to tr and get her to run, smile, and clap at the same time, thought it was quite hard for a 1 year old! anyway she did it all in the end so will just have to wait and see now.
razzamatazz, what time were you at the casting? might have seen you there? my dd was the one who didnt want to walk towards the camera, and kept running off to one side Grin

perfumelady · 19/04/2006 16:28

izzy have been through the injection thing many times it's def worse for the parent than it is for the child, she'll be fine.

i'm sure work with i/k will start rolling in soon, like you say it is very early days for them but once the clients see the beautiful children on there books your all be well busy.

razzamatazz · 19/04/2006 16:40

Lanismum, my casting was at 9:30-10:30 but with the nightmare journey to get there and back, I didn't get back home till about 2.

My dd has only just started walking so she didn't seem to want to get up and walk when the photographer wanted to take photos of her. She had been walking all the time we had been waiting - typical Grin!

I thought everyone there was really nice. The ladies at the door were very welcoming.

lanismum · 19/04/2006 16:44

aahh, we were there at 12.15, she did what they wanted in the end, but it was a struggle! i though everyone was nice too, shame they held a casting for babies in a studio that was about 3 flights of stairs up though!!!

razzamatazz · 19/04/2006 16:47

Stone stairs as well, kept worrying about slipping on my way down. Were there a mixture of ages when you were there? There seemed to be kids ranging from 1-4 during the time I was there.

lanismum · 19/04/2006 16:49

yeah, while i was there it seemed to be 3 year old (ish) boys that they wanted to ride a trike, and 1 year old (ish) girls, all the kis looked different though.

cyan · 19/04/2006 17:02

casting went ok, wse had to wait about 20/30 mins. ds was pretty good, he had to get changed into an outfit and they took a polaroid, there were 5 other children there, different ages, sexes, and sizes. think they are shooting next week.
