I bought a blue faux leather one with footstool
from bid up tv
for ds2 who has sn
he loves it

Hulababy · 27/03/2006 14:50

DD has the more basic version of \link{http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15567&catalogId=10103&storeId=7&productId=60981&langId=-20&parentCats=155671565915668\this Ikea one} and she loves it. Just wish i knew someone who could recover it for us though as the material is navy and it doesn't match now we have moved house.

cece · 27/03/2006 14:51

Fairly easy to recover. Take off the old cover. Use this for a pattern to make the new one....

mumfor1standfinaltime · 27/03/2006 14:52

I bought one in the shape of a teddy bear, it is an inflatable ring inside a soft teddy. Unfortunately think I bought it too soon - ds is 14m - and it has a puncture after being used as a teether! Blush

Hulababy · 27/03/2006 14:53

cece - that suggests I need an element of sewing skills and I really don't!

We have the same one that Hulababy has, dd's had it since she was 2 and it's been really good. It has a footstool as well, which also gets used as a seat.

I don't think they do them anymore, but the one on Hula's link is just as good. They're scaled down versions of the adult chairs, and really solidly made.

tootiredtotalk · 27/03/2006 14:55

i will log onto ikea now as we speak. there was a lovely pink one on ebay but i just missed it.

I'll be getting one of those Poang ones for DD's new bedroom when we move (no room in her current one)

Hulababy · 27/03/2006 14:58

I wish we'd got the footstool too!

I want to recover it in a neutral beige-y type colour. Must be mad!!!

tootiredtotalk · 27/03/2006 14:59

just had a looksie. think it might be a little big for dd as she is only nearly one and has a habit of throwing herself around in tantrums. maybe something softer.

DD was only about 6 months max when we bought the Ikea chair :) She is nearly 4 now and uses it all the time.

I love the look of some of the soft armchairs for children but they are often so expensive for such limited time scale.

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 15:01

When I was last in Woolworths buying a dressing up outfit for DD's jobs day (a nursery thing), they had mini armchairs and footstools in alsorts of fabrics/colours/designs.

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 15:03

they were about £40 for the chair and £15 fpr the footstool. No idea what the quality is like though.

\link{http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50564967\This} is the only one I have seen in our Woolworths.

great ill have a looksie in there. I love the ikea chair and will possibly get that anyway come to think of it. must get the tape measure out and see how big it is as i can only imagine the adult version.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 27/03/2006 15:05

the woolies one

Senoracod · 27/03/2006 15:06

do they sit ont hm?
mine lie on the floor

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 15:06

x posts with hula. That chair and stool looked a bit small for my DD (a tall 3.5yr old), so probbly pretty suitable for a smaller child/older baby

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 15:06

May just get DD a pile of funky beanbags instead

tootiredtotalk · 27/03/2006 15:09

thats the other thing. in ipswich they have a store called dunelm and it has lots of childrens beanbags that look like armchairs....might give that a go.

OP posts:
desperateSCOUSEwife · 27/03/2006 15:11

nom de plume my ds2 is over 3 ft tall and sits comfortably on it
ds3 is 5 and is 3ft tall and he also scabs his chair from him

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 15:11

the bean chairs are pants, imo, not enough stuffing. Better off with a normal bean bag. Dunelm have loads of choice and they're pretty cheap too.
