Francagoestohollywood · 05/11/2012 08:10

ma come, quale uomo? Per quale uomo ti sei presa una cotta Alameda? Non ho capito niente, allora Grin!!!

Alameda · 05/11/2012 08:54

there were so many!

I know I was a BIT cross with this one (the tour guide) but he wasn't scary like the one from the day before, it was just that he said All The Same Things, so it was sort of ancora una volta except he was a gentleman. I spent some time with him the next night and he is definitely a different character from the first one. It's just that hearing exactly the same lines made me cross at first. I think it was more stressful than I expected, being alone, although I didn't have this trouble in other places!

I also met another one in Modica and coincidentally we travelled to Rome together and had lunch and that was all very civilised. He is really sweet but preferisco the tour guide/scuba instructor even though the sexuals went horribly wrong Blush when I started crying for No Reason. Argh.

For avoidance of doubt I am 41 not 14 Blush

but you know, on the plus side, I only withdrew ?100 and came back with ?40, what with various strangers paying for things

not all pervy, I had a lovely cab driver in ortigia who wouldn't accept payment simply because I spoke in Italian with a very cringey attempt at dialect, he was so so so so pleased, he carried my suitcase in both hands as if it was the crown jewels all the way into catania train station and refused payment and said we were friends and to call him if I am ever there again - lots of nice things like that

OP posts:
Alameda · 05/11/2012 09:33

when I say I 'spoke in Italian', you know, provo Grin

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 05/11/2012 16:31

Annunziata · 05/11/2012 19:42

Ciao a tutti, oh Alameda you are so funny Grin

Alameda · 06/11/2012 08:36

hope this means you will buy the book, fifty shades of Sicilian octopus? Grin

OP posts:
Alameda · 06/11/2012 08:41

but look at this lovely email I got from someone I was chatting to on a connecting flight:

"grazie a te per la piacevole compagnia, per il tuo sorriso e per i tuoi abbracci"

I don't remember any abbracci? He was nice too though. When people ask for email/fay-sa book-a I don't really expect to hear from them again.

Ma sinniu'n Sicilia, e parravavu cu assai genti.

Oggi; DH e io farravi a pranzo, era delicioso, cenavu gamberoni allu griglia e bucatini all'ammitriciana (I can never spell that!). Sono pieno Grin

Alameda · 06/11/2012 19:46

Sulle abtitudini italiane di mangiare . . . See your gamberoni can't scare me since ho mangiato . . . ricci di mare! In fact sono invincibile now :) but are you saying they were full of holes?

a woman in Italian circle took DEEP OFFENSE at my account of the Sicilian octopus men, you'd think it was her husband, maybe it was Shock "I have owned a house in Messina for thirty years and never encountered such behaviour" etc "I am sick of people criticising the Sicilians" etc etc she had selective hearing, I talked a lot about the sea urchins and Etna too. Is not my fault she doesn't get people offering her the chance to wake up gazing at the frescoes on their ceilings very often is it?

OP posts:
Annunziata · 06/11/2012 20:08

Bonasira :)

No holes, no Grin Well, they are cut to make them thinner, with olive oil, chili, garlic and white wine. Lovely.

Ma qualchi vota pensati che li solo cosa dissi di Sicilia... mafia, octopus men, mafia, driving, etc. Io so che tu nun pensari, ma... vui stancariti ri tutti the stereotypes. Du chista que una picccolo, more, catolicu italiana cu molto bambini, un marito pigro, un ristoranti!

Ma, idda e molto brutta si nun sia friscia Wink

Annunziata · 06/11/2012 20:11

fischia. Scusa.

Francagoestohollywood · 07/11/2012 08:23

Ciao! Today I am very happy for Obama winning the election.

Alameda · 07/11/2012 11:20

Ciao Franca! Yes it's a relief isn't it?

Annunziata, penso capisco, ma non parlo about the mafia. Not very interested too scary except insofar as where there is/isn't some resistance movement. How many ways can she have it! "how Dare You, no Sicilian would ever behave that way" insieme a "oh Catania, what do you expect, they are all mafiosu there"!

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 07/11/2012 12:33

Si, davvero!

Ma che antipatica quella signora!

Annunziata · 07/11/2012 15:03

Ciao a tutti!

Ehhh she sounds demented, just ignore her Grin

I find Romney quite disturbing too.

Alameda · 07/11/2012 15:04

anyway if she thinks I have judged her beloved island too harshly she should see how much time and energy I spent/spend enjoying being ravished by it, both there and in my FB private messages and on the phone. Huh.

Annunziata · 07/11/2012 15:06

Alameda · 07/11/2012 15:14

Lei um inglese, non felice quando our teacher said 'alameda e giovane e carina so maybe this is why' Grin (am not but wasn't it nice of her to say so!)
