Here we go

OP posts:
Gumbee · 07/02/2006 19:54

Allie - Lisa said letter would be sent today telling me what is needed on the day - she sent me e-mail with times.
Totallyfloaty - It would be good to meet up, you could send me an e-mail- [email protected] and we could arrange something? Think someone else is on south coast, not sure who though?
Regarding BK - I wouldn't call them a scam agency, although have been with them for over a year and have only had one casting for Chav Burberry, always replied to e-mails promptly and never had a problem with them, perhaps they do get more work for older ones.

alliep30 · 07/02/2006 19:54

just wondering, if cost not an issue who would u choose from tuesday, childsplay or rascals we had a def yes fromn them. they need to be good for babies

Mummy2Toby · 08/02/2006 09:32

Hiya,
I can't really help that much, I have the same decision - Bizzy Kidz, Cheeky Kidz or Rascals ...... I think my SIL used Rascals and her ds had one casting for Huggies Pull-Ups, she was told he got the contract but was never used, and I thing that they charge a lot of money as well!

Maybe someone else will be along to help you more - sorry, I am useless

SH11 >>> Don't really know much about any of the ones you listed - are you not happy with AK?? Has your little man had any casting with them yet??

sonya291275 · 08/02/2006 11:18

hi Sh11 we were in the same position as you regarding agencies, in the end we decided to go with tuesdaychild, but have no heard back from IK and Ck who are keen to see him to.

perfumelady · 08/02/2006 11:36

hi everyone, i have found a site that has some useful infomation it may help some of you deceide which agency to go with or not. www.safemodelling.org.uk

marymay · 08/02/2006 12:01

hi perfumelady.good website you found worth a read.lots of info.

alliep30 · 08/02/2006 12:04

thanks perf..if you click the link to "the model register" be warned, the page comes up with topless ladies on it!!!! just in case lo looking

alliep30 · 08/02/2006 12:05

think the bit on charging to join an agency is good...

7777777 · 08/02/2006 12:32

thats a good site perfume, like allie says very interesting about th emoney side of it, so basically theyre saying ANY agency that asks for registration fees up front is a scam?!so thats BK, AK (not us allie till theyres 2)Childsplay, CK could go on and on i suppose

7777777 · 08/02/2006 12:36

talking of scams, i received a brochure of models direct today (no im not replying!), must have cost a fortune to make them, very eyecatching and tempting i would think for mums that havent been warned by mumsnet about it!theyve offered liam a 3 year contract for 116.00, in the small print its well dodgy bout being paid etc etc, all the companies listed on their client list ive never even heard of - not 1!

but the agencies always say its different in child modelling, and lots of well known kids agents do charge.I dont like this charging to assess stuff though,if they think they can get work for your child from the photos, they should meet you for free, after all casting agents pick purely from photos alot of the time.I understand being charged for the book/photoshoot,as adults build up their own book, doing shoots for new photographers etc.
Iused to model when i was 19-20,and i spent alot of time working for free to get my book together.

tinkerbellchelle · 08/02/2006 12:44

My friend has applied to Norrie Carr has anyone got any experience of these?
Hope your all well?
Not sure if Im sticking with BK or not? Or I might look elsewhere for my LO
Hope everyone is well x

cyan · 08/02/2006 12:48
