UCM

Run along to bed, you are totally and utterly out of order.

How old are you ??

Because you strike me as some one who has yet to grasp the concept of reasoned argument.

I am aware that this is a dreadful issue, but How dare you, post randomly on threads without any regard for the OP.

Have you been drinking ???

UCM · 13/01/2006 23:34

I have already contacted MN HQ asking if they can't do anything like a circular email.

marthamoo · 13/01/2006 23:34

I'm not questioning UCM or anyone's motives, Georgina (or your original thread) - I just think this was an inappropriate way of going about it.

OP posts:
UCM · 13/01/2006 23:34

No just trying to raise awareness.

nutcracker · 13/01/2006 23:35

Sorry UCM but you are going complately OTT with this.

Everyone knows about this story. Wether they choose to do anything is up to them, but i doubt that what you are doing will encourage more people to email in.

Lady sherlock, maybe I have gone about this in a sledgehammer way, but I would love to know what your reasonable argument is

ModMilge · 13/01/2006 23:36

Have emailed MNHQ - although it is probably a bit late for them tonight, and UCM isn't being offensive, so I shan't use the batphone!

UCM · 13/01/2006 23:37

If you have an explanation, I would truly love hear it.

marthamoo · 13/01/2006 23:37

UCM, you are not the only one outraged and horrified by what happened to that poor baby - but blanket posting details of baby rape on threads with silly titles about pooh is not the way to raise awareness.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 13/01/2006 23:37

Let me get this straight - UCM is bumping threads with more than ten posts on about emailing regarding sentencing for vile creatures who did something unspeakable (avoiding posting details as have been avoiding them myself) - right?

And she thinks it's a reasonable thing to do?!

PrincessPeaHead · 13/01/2006 23:38

bow out gracefully now UCM, while you still can.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 13/01/2006 23:38

I rather suspect alcohol ,is in the mix for you this evening, carry on and you are looking at a ban.......

Caligula · 13/01/2006 23:38

That's about the size of it, Hunker.

hunkermunker · 13/01/2006 23:39

Then my "reasonable argument" is that it's trolling - interrupting the flow of conversation on threads.

And no doubt I'm a baby-eating bastard for saying that, but what the feck!

Janh · 13/01/2006 23:39

How come she didn't post this on any of the Arts and Crafts threads?

UCM · 13/01/2006 23:40

OK I shall stop now. Sorry, really, if any of you found my post annoying.

I really really was trying to make everyone aware. I did think that picking posts at random was a good idea. I am also sorry if I picked a post where you were discussing somthing tragic. I am just worried that not everyone on here reads all of the posts.

SO, to anyone who I have offended, I am sorry.

Caligula · 13/01/2006 23:40

No more than 10 posters?

tamum · 13/01/2006 23:40

That's right hunker, and without any regard to the subject matter. What books we're reading, Big Brother, posters with children with unpleasant chronic illnesses, they've all been targeted with this message. It's not as though we are all incapable of reading the news or forming our own judgements, or even reading the original thread.

Janh · 13/01/2006 23:41

Nope, that doesn't explain it, C

spacedonkey · 13/01/2006 23:41

phew, thank goodness for that

Nemo1977 · 13/01/2006 23:41

UCM fully understand your outrage yes it is a horrendous thing to have happened to a poor innocent child. However as someone who was abused myself and also as a mother to a 2yr old ds and a 4wk old DD to be quite honest I am quite emotionally fragile at the minute. I did read about the baby as it was somethign difficult to avoid, I have also sent the email as saw on original thread started. I however really get upset by seeing it repeatedly on numerous threads that I was looking at for light relief.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 13/01/2006 23:41

Ill educated in the use of forum boards and quite probably drunk, what a combination.

hunkermunker · 13/01/2006 23:42

UCM, glad you'll stop now - perhaps you should email MN and get your posts removed from the irrelevant threads too though.

It's a HORRIBLE thing to have happened - of course it is. Nobody on here is not upset about it, I'm sure. But pissing people off by interrupting their convos won't help. Bump the initial thread by all means - people will email.

UCM · 13/01/2006 23:44

LadySherlock, in the words of someone who is too tired to bother with you, fuck off and insult someone else whom you think is less intelligent than you!
