While I was rummaging around in my bag trying to find my keyes I wondered what all my fellow mumsnetters were carrying around with them......

I'm lugging around:
Book - Life of Pi
purse
keys
teething gel
half eaten Peter Rabbit museli bar (Lotties)
chewing gum
mobile phone
a pen
some paper clips ???
the back of an earing
lip balm
tissues

a very old fluffy dummy
2 jammy dodgers (for emergencies) - not wrapped up obviously, so lining the whole bag with crumbs
A broken mobile phone
Some pregnancy vitamins I haven't started taking yet...
An Always pad - still there from pre-pregnancy days!
Polos
Cheque book
About 6 pens

That's about it - it's a v. small bag!

Mine is very clean at the moment as I was in a meeting and too embarrassed to turn it out due to crushed Tums and other vile debris.

Purse
keys
mobile
instructions for mobile
Leaflet on meningitis
money off vouchers
emergency chubachup lolly
pens
tissues
wet wipes
expired maternity certificate
Continental Drifter by Tim Moore
gloves
cheque books
train timetable
Waitrose recipe card
bag of dried fruit
Very old cough sweets
Paracetamol
Sunglasses (!!!)
Nit comb
etc etc

Sad lack of anything unusual, having just emptied bag of conkers and the pebble from the grounds of Norwich Castle. Would be identified as a mum within seconds. I daren't look in my purse which only just shuts due to extensive collection of receipts and train tickets.

mieow · 30/10/2003 13:16

Am I the only one who doesn't have a bag? Or a purse? I keep my keys, money and cards in my coat pockets. If I do have a bag it has a drink in it for dd, library books, pen and paper.
I'm very good at leaving things in shops and pubs, so that's why I rarely have a bag with me. And purses can be so easily nicked, then they have all your cards and money. Whereas if you keep them loose in your pocket, if you do get pickpocketed you don't lose everything.
Plus I'm not very girly!

Ooh great thread.

Two mobiles (personal and work)
Purse
Mini Filofax
Correcteur Eclat (thanks to earlier make-up thread have just discovered this)
Max Factor Facefinity Foundation
2 Kiss lipsticks
Facefinity compact powder
Keys
Manky tissues
Panty liner!
Fruit Rennies

Back to using pretty handbag - hurrah! - so still have to lug around horrid change bag with all the rest of it in.

Bozza · 04/11/2003 12:22

Rhubarb sometimes I just grab stuff out of my bag and put them in my pockets. And I virtually never used to carry both a change bag and a handbag although DS is beyond this stage now. But my smart work coat and a lot of my work clothes do not have pockets so that option is then removed on those three days. Went to Mums and Toddlers yesterday with a small bag which was full with a tissue, purse, mobile, pair of pants (DS's), and keys. The coat I was wearing only just fastened so didn't want to add extra strain.
