While I was rummaging around in my bag trying to find my keyes I wondered what all my fellow mumsnetters were carrying around with them......

Almost daren't admit that since then I have found a few extra bits and pieces. Will tidy out tonight and post again tomorrow. Have now eaten one satsuma so lightened the load slightly....

Hi Batters,a life hammer is a little metal pointed hammer that can break glass and a little cutter on it for slicing through seat belts-just handy in case of car accident.

I can't believe you carry a life hammer and a scredriver around with you. I'm amazed. Were you a girl guide ?
I have fleetingly thought of asking dh for a swiss army knife for xmas. I often need scissors or some sort of cutting implement when i'm out. But it's not as nice as a bottle of perfume !

My gosh - how big are all of you bags

I can hardly talk - i've got the smallest handbag in the land and still manage to fill inthe brim with complete rubbish.

Christian Dior Lipstick (my pride and joy, costs me £15 bleeding quid - daren't use it or take out of my bag incase i loose it )

and a camera which i am desperately trying to find a new battery for before tomorrow!

Surprised there wasn't more chocolate wrappers TBH.

No wonder my daughters think it's odd if they ask for something and I don't have it on me. They look at me as if I've gone mad when this happens.

I know I know - i only put in there yesterday because it's a new card and i haven't got round to changing the number to one i remeber yet - had to ring DP and ask him what it was!

THought he was being funny by not telling me until he realised it was so i could buy his b'day pressie - soon coughed up then

This is so funny - you girls carry SO much around! I've got a lot in my bag today and it's only a 1/4 of what you have in your bags. Ahhh but then I do have a massive filofax that won't fit in my bag with bills and cards etc etc stuffed in additional to the diary and address book.

Kayleigh I had the swiss army knife for my weddding anniversary present-my choice,it's been so useful I love it.

Don't have a handbag, but lately carry somehow with me:
keys,
moneypurse,
tissues,
spare clothes for the 2yo & 4yo,
a bottle of water.

If I'm organised, also some spare plastic bags & some fruit (for snacks for the kids). Try to leave credit cards/etc. at home.

My bag is relatively tidy at present:

mobile phone
chewing gum
millions of old receipts
toy plastic cup
hair band
lip gloss
old sweet wrappers

does anyone carry condoms, or paracetamol or anything??????
