Well done welshmum, I can't even see the top of the pile, let alone stay on top of it all.

...finding a pair of jeans in the sale at Gap, which are the right (dark) blue and make me look thinner and fashionable!!!! love it

Welshmum · 15/10/2003 15:28

Waterbaby - it won't last so I'm enjoying it while I can. Only took me 18 months!

my dad, because he's a wonderful man who never ceases to amaze me.

What a lovely thread to sit and read - really, really nice, ta=hanks everyone

Off the top of my head :-

My amazing daughter and EVERYTHING she does - can't go there or I'll never stop - just one recent favourite thing I love is when I take her out of her cot in the morning and she puts her head on my shoulder and then turns her face in and blows a raspberry on my neck / shoulder and then schrunches up her body into me with the joy of what she's just done!

My DP and all my wonderful friends
My mum, my dad, my stepfather, my sisters and brother

Sunny but cold days in the autumn/winter

Having friends over for dinner

All the kids asleep in different rooms, some sharing, when friends come for dinner

Coming home to my house after a fab holiday away

Having my hair washed / blowdried

When you can't put a book down

Making DP laugh

Days out - anywhere - and coming home tired but happy

A cosy evening in at home when DD has had a bath and is in her pj's drinking milk on her armchair/beanbag, DP and I are just opening the 1st bottle of red, dinner is cooking, papers are half read and there's a good documentary on later that evening! Soon I can add the fire being on to that list! Bliss!

... when ds laughs
... when ds learns something new
... coming home to find dp is already home
... weekends as a family
... when one of my students thanks me (happened today, she said "Thanks for thinking of me like that Miss." - made my day!

  • being brought a cup of tea or coffee in bed by dh (which happens most mornings lately as I've been working late )
- escaping to the woods or beach with dh, the children and a picnic (whatever the weather) bathtime, reading stories and snuggling ds down for the night, kissing ears and biting toes - time alone with dd... we get to catch up on girliness, put the world to rights and indulge ourselves - splashing & stomping in puddles - friends - a candlelit bath, a good book, my favourite bath treats, and a large glass of something alcoholic - being on my own and painting ( usually listening to radio 3 in the middle of the night) - the shipping forecast - the smell of my Dad, still in his things, although he died two years ago - my mum

Suddenly feel very blessed as I could go on and on (but won't as you'll all be bored rigid)

this thread is great and makes me happy and all warm and fuzzy

wobblyknicks · 16/10/2003 12:04

....curling up in a blanket with hot chocolate and a good book while it's raining and cold outside (soon to get lots of nights like that!!)

....baby dd when she frowns for a second trying to remember who I am, then gives a huge smile

....October - there's so many birthdays in the family I can go net shopping for ages, buy loads but it's completely guilt-free!

....going to sleep at night, watching dd sleeping and taking tiny breaths
