We may have had this before but who cares. Mine is in the 'study' which JulesToo says sounds posh but, sadly, it's far removed from being a book lined retreat with an enormous roll top walnut desk, leather wing chairs and those green glass reading lamps (I wish). It's the spare bedroom as well (so I'm upstairs when I'm on MN, abandoning my neglected kids who are downstairs), and has 2 PCs and the X-Box, plus a big box of tools, books that won't go anywhere else, hundreds of cassettes we will never listen to again and various bits of Lego dotted around. And a singing hamster, don't ask.

Howsabout you?

In the kitchen. But one day will get wireless and can be anywhere

LilacBump · 09/11/2005 11:38

ibook on my lap, in the livingroom or anywhere really as we have wireless internet in the house.

DaddyCool · 09/11/2005 12:16

wireless is the only way to go. for a measly £50 you can get a wireless router. it's a must do if you've got a laptop.

auntymandy · 09/11/2005 12:17

in dining room

doormat · 09/11/2005 12:18

in front room behind cabinets
kids one upstairs
currently on in hozzy

chipmonkey · 09/11/2005 12:58

Ours is in dh's study (snap, compo!) It should be a shelf-lined room with built-in desk but the company who do that were going to charge 11 thousand euro so we got 2 big long desks and 2 bookshelves from Argos instead. I keep buying the Lottery tickets, though [sigh]

Front room, in a little alcove behind sofa and before kitchen door. Where I can see the playroom entrance (we're not posh, they get the dining room: it's a mess reducing compromise, kitchen and hear every other room / garden too.

oliveoil · 09/11/2005 13:26

Gathering dust under the table in the playroom, I don't do Mumsnet at home when I should be looking after my children .

Nbg · 09/11/2005 13:28

We have a laptop so atm I'm in the Kitchen sat at the table with dd.

Normally I'm in the living room watching tv.

Thank goodness for wireless broadband!

scotlou · 09/11/2005 13:37

This one's on my desk at work. One at home is in the room referred to by dh as "the computer room" and by kids as "the toy room"!

Kelly1978 · 09/11/2005 13:47

I want hausfraus lounge!

My new lounge doesnt fit the computer desk, so I'm on a laptop on the sofa, connected by wires trailing into the hallway. Other pc is upstairs in the bedroom - my refuge when I should be workign instead of mnetting.

Mines in the hall. Do I win the widest hall competition?

May have to rethink position due to son now crawling and dragging himself up onto furniture whilst at the same time working out how to switch the computer on and off and open the DVD drawer. Bummer.

bubbles2904 · 09/11/2005 16:18

mine is a laptop on a table in my living room, but instead of csi, i'm watching friends

Lmccrean · 09/11/2005 21:31

at work at the weekends, and laptop in my bedroom during the week

diva4mgl · 09/11/2005 21:51

laptop in study/ play room at the moment

mummyhill · 10/11/2005 08:06

We put a load of shelves in the alcove in our living room and the computer fits on the widest one so I sit here at the beck and call of the whole family.

Birchy · 10/11/2005 21:36

In the corner of the lounge. Unfortunatley i have two kiddies seats to sit on from ikea so, when i do finally drag myself away i am crippled!!

Roobie · 10/11/2005 21:43

In a large computer desk (that shuts it away like a nice piece of furniture) in the corner of the lounge. We have wireless as well so when dh is hogging the desktop I can sit on the sofa with the laptop.

Rhubarb · 10/11/2005 21:44

I'd like it in the bog where I can get a bit of peace!

DelGirl · 10/11/2005 21:47

In the 'study'. Which contains a desk, book shelves, and a unit with heaps of paperwork on. The floor is covered in paperwork too, just call it my file . Oh and the laundry basket!

lucykate · 10/11/2005 21:50
