kicked this off after wishing suzy wong a happy one. when's yours, what's your idea of a perfect birthday, etc.

mine's October 30th. looming. perfect birthday would be a gorgeously sunny day with kids not screaming, dh in a good mood, good wishes from friends, something small in a jewelry box (yeah, dream on!) and a delicious birthday dinner, complete with chocolate cake.

Do you have plans for your birthday, bee3?

bee3 · 24/09/2005 11:26

Not really. Might ask friend to babysit so dh and I can go out for a meal......Dh might organise something as a surprise (I've been hinting enough...). How about you?

Lonelymum · 24/09/2005 11:26

Mine is on New Years Eve. My ideal birthday would be what I did last year: travelled to Paris on Eurostar with dh and spent a weekend sightseeing. Shame we had to take the kids too!

SPARKLER1 · 24/09/2005 11:28

Mine was yesterday 23rd September. It was perfect. Lots of lovely pressies. I didn't stop eating all day - went out for a family meal last night. A quiet birthday but I loved it.

blueteddy · 24/09/2005 11:28

DH keeps asking me what I want to do, but I can't decide!
Think we will probably go for a meal, if I can get a babysitter.
I am depressed, because I will be 33!

zippitippitoes · 24/09/2005 11:46

I noticed yesterday that I was born on the same day as another mn ..it's the only time I've seen someone post their date of birth in full on here and it was mine!

January 14th

Would like a lovely lie in, a nice bubble bath to be ready for me when i wake up. come down stairs to a tidy house, angelic looking children and a dh who has actuallt bothered to shave for once.

Like handmade card from the kids and something sparkly of dh (hmm one of his past efforts was a cook book and a kareoke machine)

spend the day shopping for new clothes, pub for lunch and a choccie cake mmmmmmmm

Happy birthday to you, as well, Eidsvold.

eidsvold · 25/09/2005 04:18

hope your day ended better than mine did sue went out for lunch to our fav cafe and it has changed owners - food crap, service even crappier and to top it off - dh ends up with food poisoning , followed by two sleepless babes who did not settle all night Don't ya love it However not the worse things that could happen....

kando · 25/09/2005 09:02

Snap Jodee - 17 January. Will be 33. Would love a lie in (like yours Eidsvold, although 2 hours is a loooong lie in for me! - I got 8 mins this morning!) I think my perfect day would be one where the kids don't argue, dh didn't spend all day on the PC (in fact, I'd ban him from using it!), I didn't have to make breakfast, lunch OR dinner; I could wander round Tescos AND Asda at my own pace (we don't live in the UK at the mo and I REALLY miss the supermarkets!) then have a wander round the "womens" shops. Not likely to happen (except maybe not having to prepare any food, depending on what day my birthday's on!) as I'll be 38 weeks pregnant and probably look (and feel) like a beached whale! But I can dream ...

suedonim · 25/09/2005 17:11

Oh noooooo, Eidsvold! Hope everyone is okay now. We went out for dinner last night but no symptoms of FP so far..... I had to share my outing with dd1. She was 18 in May but her dad missed the celebratory meal then as he had campylobacter FP (no idea where it came from) and she felt was due another meal out as recompence.

teeavee · 25/09/2005 17:15

my b'day is on the crappest day of the year - january 2nd.
My ideal birthday would be one where we actually did anything at all to mark the occasion

being a jan 2 baby has been the bane of my life (shuffles off to wallow in self-pity)

PeachyClair · 25/09/2005 17:24

Same as Miaou et al, July eighth. What would I like to do? Well no kids would be great, romantic picnic in the mountains? I wish!!!!
