kicked this off after wishing suzy wong a happy one. when's yours, what's your idea of a perfect birthday, etc.

mine's October 30th. looming. perfect birthday would be a gorgeously sunny day with kids not screaming, dh in a good mood, good wishes from friends, something small in a jewelry box (yeah, dream on!) and a delicious birthday dinner, complete with chocolate cake.

eidsvold · 22/09/2005 22:28

24 Sept - will be the big 37

Whizzz · 22/09/2005 22:35

My birthday is Christmas Eve - my idea of a perfect brirthday would be sometime in July when people aren't too busy to come to a party or are too wrapped up in Xmas that they forget and when you can go to a restaurant and not have Xmas crackers on the table & carol singers singing in the background.

dramaqueen72 · 22/09/2005 22:48

yesterday{grin]
perfect birthday would be shopping (all paid for) and then choice selection of friends out for a meal. lots of special little gifts. like smellies that i cant afford myself, flowers, chocolate.....heaven!

harpsichordcarrier · 22/09/2005 23:07

day before yesterday (20th)
would like a lie-in, nice lunch cooked for me by someone else, champagne in the afternoon, dinner at poncy restaurant with no prices on the menu...
this year I got - SPD and a sprained ankle.

jodee · 22/09/2005 23:44

17th January. A complete pampering session - ahhh.

I share my birthday with Darth Vader's voice (James Earl Jones), Muhammad Ali, Jim Carrey, and Andy Kaufman. (Just a bit of useless info for you!)

Linnet · 23/09/2005 00:21

January 10th. Horrible time to have a birthday as it's to close to christmas and new year and everyone is skint, everyones depressed about having no money until the end of the month and having to go back to work after the holidays and the weather stinks.

Would love to go to Australia for my birthday so I can celebrate in summer for once, you do realise this is just an excuse to go there on holiday of course, one day I will be there, maybe for my 40th.

7 August.
Ideal b.day would be to be out of the country, or at a festival or something.

hunkermunker · 23/09/2005 00:50

Aw, Linnet! Am due on 14th January Poor baby!

My birthday's 30th June. Am 31 next year. Ideal birthday...Alton Towers (or Tivoli Gardens) with no queues for rides Am such a child!

moozoboozo · 23/09/2005 00:58

Mines 27th January.

Everyone, except DP and my Mum forgot this year (even my Dad )so I am not celebrating next year. I don't even want presents. Bollocks to the lot of 'em.

However, DP, if you are reading this, I would like it if you took me away for a dirty weekend somewhere and we could go to a pub and drink ourselves silly. I would also like a decent, well thought out present. I do not want something for the baby, which is what you got me last time, you effing arse.

hunkermunker · 23/09/2005 01:00

Aw, MB! Something for the baby - gah!

You share a birthday with my DH, btw

moozoboozo · 23/09/2005 01:03

Yes, he bought me a bloody Baby Bjorn carrier for our then 6 week old. He brought this nice bix box up to our bedroom, and said "I know you really wanted this one"

Yes, but not for my birthday.

ghosty · 23/09/2005 02:04

edgetop is my twin ... 9th March for me too.

My ideal day would be 24 hours in my house with no one else in it ... no kids, no DH ... just me, the telly, a bottle of wine in the evening, some yummy snacky type food, Mumsnet and my bed - empty with just me in it

moozoboozo · 23/09/2005 02:13

Mmm, yeas a nice bed all to myself. Now that is a treat. Much nicer than having to nudge DH because he's snoring.

eidsvold · 24/09/2005 01:22

today started with a small sleep in - rather than 6.30 I got up at 8.30am - dh had cooked breakfast. I was woken up by dh, dd1 ( eyelevel beside tne bed) and dd2 bearing gifts, then dd1 gave me a bunch of flowers at breakfast. Off to lunch to our favourite lunch place, then dh is cooking dinner. Weather is fab today - a balmy sunny 27 degrees celsius.

Off shopping later in the week - have money to spend

redshoes · 24/09/2005 07:19
