£500 on wedding dress.... other than that, £60 on a winter coat about 5 years ago.

mommie · 12/09/2005 17:40

300 quid on a dress for my 40th birthday (it was my coping mechanism

Skate · 12/09/2005 17:40

Hmm, apart from wedding dress?

I think £200 for a leather jacket.

I don't spend silly money on clothes because a) they get covered in baby slobber, b)I don't always get wear out of them because I like buying new things and c) I'm not made of money!!

weesaidie · 12/09/2005 18:30

Before I had dd £250 on beautiful winter coat. Saw a winter coat I'd like now for £75 and I am not sure if I can splash out!

I've never spent more than £100 on any item of clothing. My boots last winter were £75 - I think that's the most I've ever spent. I did buy a £150 full length wool coat when I was working - but it was half price in the sale

cupcakes · 12/09/2005 18:36

and £85 on a Boden coat in the sale

A friend of mine went to New York for a week to spend spend spend!
She got loads of cheap bargains.
When it was time to go home she had £200 left on her and decided to invest in a pair or Jimmy Choo shoes.
She had always always wanted a pair so off to the shop she went.

She found a gorgeous pair of shoes, tried them on, they fitted very comfortably.

The tag said £200....

She took them to the till, the snotty assistant wrapped them and bagged them, then handed them to my friend and stated "That will be £400 please"

My friend staggered and asked the assistant if she was sure as the tag had said £200.

To which the assistant replied..."£200 per shoe".

Well, the credit card had to come out as my friend just didnt have the nerve to say to the snotty assistant...."i'll just take the one shoe please"...

She was really worried about getting mugged in New york as she was scared that the mugger would take her shoes...they could have her purse and bag but please God dont take the Jimmy Choos!

£110 on a really gorgeous pair of maternity grey bootcut cord trousers... they're Italian and dh made me by them because I had tried on about 100 pairs of horrible and unflattering mat "jeans"... they are fabulous and I wore them all them time during my last pregnancy and this one but never without thinking >wince< £110 for a pair of trousers!

NomDePlume · 12/09/2005 19:08

£800 on a pair of leather trousers, and around £350 on a pair of shoes.

Shame that I can't fit into either of them at the moment.

expatinscotland · 12/09/2005 20:02

£400 on a jacket. I still wear it.

£300 on a Dianne von Furstenberg wrap dress for my wedding. I still wear that as well.

£300 on a pair of black Manolo slingbacks. Still wear those as well.

Pinotmum · 12/09/2005 20:32

£560.00 on a 3/4 length Paul Smith Coat. I still wear it and the first night I wore it I met my future husband (I've been poor ever since)
