me don't know if there are any others but do know that some are from brisbane and were living in the UK like I was at one point in time.

Bouj · 12/09/2005 05:00

Oh yes, know about you!! I always look out for your girls - because I know what they look like!! Which side of Brisbane are you on?

eidsvold · 12/09/2005 05:45

Oh no - no anonymity now

eidsvold · 12/09/2005 05:46

northside - how about you?

Bouj · 12/09/2005 05:48

southside. So not likely to run into you in the shopping centre then! Do you work in town though?

Bouj · 12/09/2005 05:54

Yes I keep an eye out for the 'cheeky monkey/serious baby' double act!

OP posts:
mymama · 12/09/2005 05:56

I'm also in Brisbane on northside.

eidsvold · 12/09/2005 06:02

nope - am a SAHM. Add to the monkey/serious babe - harrassed mother!!!

Lethal · 12/09/2005 09:01

So when are we having a meet-up

Daddycool why the green face?

Bouj · 13/09/2005 05:47

DC, you are not seriously jealous of Brisbane are you??

A meet up is a great idea, that is what I was testing the waters for. Though I'm pregnant, and will be duller than usual, would love to have an Aus meet up!

Hi Bouj. I'm up for it if anyone else is

Are we all Australian or are some of you over here from the UK? Yeah I'm not sure why DC is envious about living in Brisbane - lovely place, but it's about to get very hot...

Is this your first bub Bouj?

suzywong · 13/09/2005 07:04

hello
purpleturtle and nottsmum are coming to Perth so we could have a mini one in November, you'll probably be on your second then but we could synchronise it and....well dunno really afdter that

eidsvold · 13/09/2005 07:33

am a brissy girl who spent four years in the UK... as well as other places but the 4 years in the UK is when I discovered mumsnet... returned to Brissyw ith dh, dd1 and dd2 on the way last year.

Suzy - though you had migrated East when I saw your name on the thread

jealous- damn right he should be... bring on the warmer weather....

eidsvold · 13/09/2005 07:35

I am up for it but we have tonnes of stuff on usually during the week with kindy, playgroup, swimming and therapy. Will have to wait until after the school holidays to see what is happening and can then give a better idea of a meet up. Weekends are sacred family time in our house

suzywong · 13/09/2005 07:36

no 'cken way mate, I love the West

Bouj · 13/09/2005 08:12

Sounds good. I am a Brissy girl too, spent a total of about 6 years in the UK, (the classic working holiday, look Mum, I got the ultimate souvenir). We got married here, but went back immediately afterwards! Ds was born there, and we moved here permanently about a year ago. Ds is 2 1/2 and I am 7 weeks pregnant with No. 2. Not sure about anyone else but I have a weary but triumphant DH - he stayed up the watch the whole bloody thing last night!!!

sorry, green face because i'm dieing to emigrate to oz and brisbane is where i want to be. i like it hot as hell.

... i'm getting there with dw. i've convinced her to try canada out and if she enjoys the year relaxing and trying the commonwealth life then after that we might take the extra step to oz.

suzywong · 13/09/2005 08:57

what about the Isle of Wight?
That's an ex colony isn't it?

DaddyCool · 13/09/2005 08:58

suzywong has heard my story a million times i think

i want to live rurally just outside brisbane and i want to wear flips flops and dodgy checked shirts and forget my career ever existed.

DaddyCool · 13/09/2005 08:59

isle of wight... my little white boney arse! i want to roast myself in the sun.

DaddyCool · 13/09/2005 09:04

... and i want a really big truck and a house on stilts

suzywong · 13/09/2005 09:08

yes but do you want only one brand of betting shop and very very few home-grown quality sitcoms?

See, there's a flip side to everything DC
