Weather is lovely. Up to 25 degrees during day and down to 16 at night. Beautiful clear sunny skies. Not sure where Robertson is as only been in Bris 2 years - haven't got around to there yet.

Lonelymum · 21/09/2005 21:18

Near Mount Gravatt if that helps.

Lonelymum · 21/09/2005 21:18

Oh and it is not too bad here (England) either. Still t-shirt weather.

mymama · 22/09/2005 06:29

My aunt lives near Mt Gravatt so will look out for it next time I visit.

Yes, eidsvold, I have been meaning to post the same thing but always out of time!! Was going to suggest botanical gardens or southbank or even roma st parklands as we could bring the kids. I work Thursdays and Fridays, but would be up for any other day. Who else? Would love to meet everyone.

Oh, and I am very near Mt Gravatt, and do know where Robertson is. Its southside!

Hi i'm also from brissy, i don't post much just lurk. I recently returned to the UK after moving back to Brisbane after 11years in the UK. Only managed 1 year back in brisbane i missed the work opportunities and lifestyle in the UK too much. However, I forgot how expensive it is to live in the UK. Now thinking about moving back.. I guess ive got itchy travellers feet. I was living bayside.

bulimbabean · 22/09/2005 07:23

My furniture will be the most well travelled and expensive pieces if i go back home. it will have gone back and forth twice. I shudder to think at the expense.

eidsvold · 22/09/2005 09:39

we have kindy wednesday and thursday and therapy friday and swimming Monday - looks like Tuesday would be our best bet... will have to check dates when I am near the calendar. Haven't been to Roma Street since they did it up.... that or the gardens would be best for us - Southbank pool/beach would be too tempting for dd1 and make it impossible to sit and chat whilst she is running off.... the joys of her finally walking

Sounds good! I took ds to Roma St a couple of months ago - is quite lovely. Lots of gardens and some playgrounds. And a sweet little train that goes around the whole place. Haven't been to the Gardens for ages though - so that could be good! Anyone else up for it?

I am envious, she says sitting at her desk in London
Roma St is lovely now they've redone it. Also a fan of Southbank, so nice to take dd there when we are out there visiting.
Bulimbabean, your story sounds so much likes ours, except for the bit about coming back here! I'll have been away from Bne for 13.5yrs & in the UK for 11yrs, when we finally return, and are looking at the Bayside suburbs. I grew up in the Northside and dh is not Australian so thought somewhere new for both us would be a good start.
I do wonder how long it will take to settle though, and not always think we are leaving at somepoint. Although when I left I was single, and I'll be returning with dh and 2 children under 4, so life will be a little different to what I remember

eidsvold · 24/09/2005 01:16

scully - I left AUs in 2000 single and carefree and returned 2004 with dh ( english and met when I was there) , dd1 and 20 weeks pregnant with dd2

I grew up on the northside too.
