I have a real thing about runner beans. I can't bear the smell of them and the thought of eating them makes me want to heave! Not a real phobia I suppose, but I avoid them at all costs.

Anyone have a fear of centipedes or fear of rustling sounds coming from behind your tv? you will if you read suedonims link!

PeachyClair · 02/09/2005 21:57

snakes. I even nearly crashed a car because there was a twig in the road that looked like a snake. yucky things.

and - um - gold shoes.

Skribble · 02/09/2005 21:57

Used to have major phobia about vomit and vomiting, got over it when I was nannying. Got off a bus once in the middle of nowhere as i thought was going to be sick.

Butterflies.

chipmonkey · 02/09/2005 22:23

Daddy-long-legses! ds1 (9) has to get rid of them for me as I am very irrational around them!

Skribble · 02/09/2005 22:23

No I just had to deal with it, I could manage until their mum came in. Then once I was a Mum then no choice at least babies break you in gently with sour milk ones, not as bad as spaggetti hoops and fish fingers YYYUUUCCKKK!!!!!!

chipmonkey · 02/09/2005 22:23

And it doesn't help when dh says "they're more scared of you than you arte of them"

Doesn't work for me Skribble, despite having four children to ensure I get plenty of exposure

Aimsmum, what are you doing here?

madmarchhare · 02/09/2005 22:27

Snakes, which is normal I suppose.

But I hate tomato sauce, not just the taste but looking at it makes me shudder, especially if its leftovers on someone plate .

Sorry, this is not a put down, but do any of you with phobias, read about other people's phobias and think to yourself, I wish I had that phobia instead of the one I have got? I do.
