Parcels
the postman

Carla · 30/08/2005 16:12

God, you're lucky. We get a note through the door and have to make a 20 mile round trip.

In my old house we got left one of those vehicles of yesteryear kind of dinky toy things in a box. At first we thought it was a promotion thing from the milk man but when we asked neither he nor the postman knew anything about it, a bit strange!

GhostofNatt · 30/08/2005 16:14

Well then the question is very unclear and no doubt ought to have said "What unexpected items have been left at your door by persons unknown and have you ever susbequently discovered who thsoe persons were?" bahahaha

A huge bouquet of flowers when DD1 was born, addressed only to me with the message "with lots of love". No name. Rang florist and they refused to give details saying the sender had requested anonymity. Still have no idea who they were from.

Actually understood the question but could not think of a single surprising thing ever left at my door, not even a slug.

Oh yeah just remembered at the same house when i was pregnant with my dd we got our milk delivered would bring it in then at some point later in the day there would be a pint of full cream milk left on the doorstep we never found out who it was from..it wasnt the milkman we checked, it went on for a few months then just stopped.

iota · 30/08/2005 16:19

A frog - actually, I suspect it got itself there rather than any human intervention

GhostofNatt · 30/08/2005 16:22

Hey, thsi could be a new kind of swaps - people could be randomly assigned other people's addresses and leave slugs and bottles of milk etc oustide their doors. Think of the happiness which would be spread

iota · 30/08/2005 16:24

and my cat does a nice line in leaving dead animals outside teh door -- I would love to swap some of them - send me your addresses

GhostofNatt · 30/08/2005 16:26

Fantastic, we just need a random stuff left outside door coordinator now, maybe iota's cat?

No, that would be dismal, dino, although I did have a rat in my front garden some weeks ago if we are broadening the oarameters a bit...

iota · 30/08/2005 16:28
