God, I forgot the rat .. but then I know our dog left it, so that doesn't count.

A bag with potatoes in, hung from the door handle.

GhostofNatt · 30/08/2005 16:30

I;m going to retire now because people are still posting all the lovely surprises that have been spontaneously left by their front doors despite my bitter and twisted efforts to hijack thsi thread...

dillydally · 30/08/2005 16:31

Nothing
They would have to make it through two electronically controlled security gates to get to my door. And there are no such Milk tray type folk in East end of London.

Even my parcels never get near.

Demented · 30/08/2005 16:33

Don't know about lovely, I always thought there was something strangely sinister about a bag of potatoes with no calling card.

GhostofNatt · 30/08/2005 16:34

No the potatoes are well weird, hope you didn't eat them.

dillydally · 30/08/2005 16:35

I used to date a farmer and every time he would pick me up he bought some fruit or veg for my mummy.
She still hated him.

I was a young un' and then moved away from the farmer to the big smoke.

I can assure you there was no uprooting of the farmer - who was quite uninterestingly allergic to celery. i think he is tending to his tomatoes as we speak.

Carla · 30/08/2005 16:39

dillydally .... I bet there are. That's the sort of place they're meant to wheedle out.

Now there is a thread...farmers I have known potentially quite exclusive..
Mile end and Milk Tray are mutually exclusive

Carla · 30/08/2005 16:54

lol, dillydally. I've started on - go on, you know you want to contribute!

NotQuiteCockney · 30/08/2005 17:33

Oh, dillydally, I live in Mile End. And we often find things on the doorstep ... but generally it's stuff being returned from other people's houses.

LadyCodofCodford are you Cod ?

SqueakyCat · 06/10/2005 20:18

Cod: It took you over a month to find out?
Did she have a long holiday?

I got home once to find a carrier bag with a box of (not very nice) chocolates and a bottle of (ditto) wine. Took me a month to find out who from.

Have also received a bag of plums and a bag of beans.

Was recently falsely accused of leaving a bag of apples for someone else.

LadyCodofCodford · 06/10/2005 20:18

just kept fr getting to ask her!
