I'm an only child and I'm pretty sure my dc will be an only too

I think my own childhood has influenced this to some extent and I wondered how many others are in this situation...

I’m an only. I lost both my parents before I turned 25. I had no cousins either. I had no family in the world and hated it. As a result I dreamed of a large family and I have four children now. thanks to my husband’s large family my tribe have nine cousins. It’s a lovely thing to watch a large family grow up together.

Not an only, but DSis is 14 years younger than me so most of my childhood I was an only and we only speak very occasionally now.

I wanted 2 or 3 kids fairly close in age so that they could have siblings to grow up with. I currently have one stepchild and one child, with 5 years between them. DD is now 1.5 and we're considering TTC again.
