Episode 33 - The Orangery - Tea anyone?

The tearoom has traveled back to the Orangery for another visit. There are bluebells in the nearby woods, and Mellors has Earl Grey and Lady Grey ready for some excursions. Mellors has, indeed, been overwintering away from Canada for some reason - I think he's been helping Maud out in the garden. There are tulips out in urns outside, and there are a few tables out in the sunny courtyard for use between showers.

Whether you have one child or several, pull up a chair and share a Brew or a Wine. The only rules remains no fisticuffs.

What is so bloody difficult about answering a simple question?? I occasionally have to bite my tongue right off so as not to snap at DH "which is it, yes or no? These are not difficult questions!"

UniS · 29/05/2012 17:38

chocolate is always a good start scout. Maybe add some kid friendly biscuits or snacky bits.

FINALLY got an answer from DHat about 4.15 , he is taking leave.... so back to option A which I thought had been discarded weeks ago. BUT I do have the car. And As boy is booked in to play with friends after school on both days dH gets nice long days to himself and will probably go for a walk on one or both of them.

Jacksmania · 29/05/2012 18:19

Did someone say chocolate? :)

mistlethrush · 29/05/2012 19:47

I agree - then they get all huffy about being put on the spot to answer yes or no....

I'd think chocolate is a good start. Does it need to be more? Would you do the same for her and is it likely to happen?

Wine anyone?

Jacksmania · 29/05/2012 20:06

Oh, it definitely needs to be more chocolate.

Jacksmania · 29/05/2012 20:07

And, whoops, I should NOT skim-read threads. Blush

Scout, chocolate is fine, especially if you would and have done the same for her (and I bet you would/have).

I'll now switch to the Wine, thanks...

Scout19075 · 29/05/2012 20:25

Yes, chocolates sound like a good idea. I'll get a mixed box of celebrations or roses or something when I go shopping tonight. I'll still drop the Mars Bars off to Guiding friend -- her son's getting married next week and she's a bit stressed (son and his fiancé are living abroad and have come back for the wedding so she's been helping with a lot of the leg work) so think she'd appreciate her favorite treat.

As for other friend, I haven't yet watched her two but would gladly do so if needed. We do the "keep an eye on all of the kids" thing when we're out (playground, soft play, etc). I quite like her two. And what's important is they seem fond of Toddler (and Toddler worships them, especially the boy) and play with him, include him the hellos/goodbyes, invite him to join in, etc., even though he's much younger than they are.

Scout19075 · 29/05/2012 23:04

I went for a box of Cadbury's and a barrel box of biscuits. Both were half price so felt I could get both instead of just one. Still, a box of chocolates and a box of biscuits is well worth the price in not having to wrangle Toddler from the MRI tube. Grin

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 09:53

Toddler's looking at little picture frame with a picture of MrScout & I that was taken just before we were married. We still look the same so he can easily recognize "Mommy & Daddy." But he was looking at it saying "Mommy Daddy Family."

I don't know where he's worked that out from but my heart just melted.

Donki · 30/05/2012 19:25

Scout, that is really lovely!

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 21:04

Later in the morning, while in the bathroom with me as we got ready for the day (shower, teeth, hair, etc) he watched himself in the mirror and gave me a cuddle (while watching) and said "Mommy Toddler Family."

Toddler's been an absolute star today.

mistlethrush · 30/05/2012 21:12

Its nice when they're working out connections like that. You should perhaps get some photos out from both sides of the family - hemight be fascinated - mc certainly was.

I'm in the process of doing a simple pictorial family tree for Toddler.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 30/05/2012 23:28

::wafts in::

How lovely to see Tea!

::clasps Oxeye to her ample bosom, comme toujours::

And that is just awesome, Scout. Toddler is the cutest!

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 23:39

I'm on my own today and after a crazy afternoon/evening and a very sore arm I'm a bit lonely and could do with a hug.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 30/05/2012 23:44

I'm off to bed now. Would you like some Wine and chocolate before I go?

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 23:46

A bit of chocolate. Thanks, Maud! I'm on my way to bed, too.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 30/05/2012 23:48

Take your pick!

teafortwo · 31/05/2012 06:42

Yum!!!! What is all this chocolate on the table???? Good morning, tearoom ladies xxx

Scout19075 · 31/05/2012 08:44

Mmmm, chocolates for breakfast. The best way to start the day!

Arm has finally stopped buzzing but it's still tender and sore. The vein they finally got to work is still puffy and can be seen sticking out of my arm a bit. If I move it wrong (my arm/wrist) it twinges.

Swimming with Toddler will be interesting (I haven't been picking him up/supporting him with that arm).

mistlethrush · 31/05/2012 09:19

Brew all round?

Lovely and cool here and nice and fresh. Just need the weather to pick up a little so that we don't get drowned all of next week....

After an emotional rollercoaster lasting longer than I'd care to admit...- it has happened - milk has her slightly odd looking style over content jesus boots summer sandals.... Surely that calls for some champagne popping, non?????!!!!!!?????

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/05/2012 20:24

Oh yeah, Tea!

::waggles glass, optimistically::

teafortwo · 31/05/2012 20:40

pours out several pints and straws!!!!!! Yay!!!!! Milk and I are currently having an Abba fest - every morning we get up to the rhythms of Such musical heights as "Mamma Mia" and "Money, money, money" - Milk gets bs and ds confused so insists on calling them Adda - LOL...

teafortwo · 31/05/2012 20:42
