Episode 32 - The New Zealand tea room

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/01/2012 22:06

Well folks, here we are, beside the hot springs of New Zealand.

The tea room (with the customary distressed chintz sofa) overlooks the steaming, bubbling lake. For the bold and sporty, hiking, biking and sky-diving are on offer. Personally, I'm not planning to leave the spa.

Please come and join us for a celebratory drink and conversation ranging from the profound to the profoundly silly. The cardinal rule remains: no fisticuffs.

Big hugs Scout

Thumbwitch · 20/01/2012 12:57

((((hugs)))) for you Scout - here, have some quilting and some Reese's peanutbutter cups, oh and a book about guiding in NZ. Remember we're here to vent/offload to if you want to. Have some Wine as well while you're down there.

Scout19075 · 20/01/2012 16:30

Stupid broken blood. Angry

Ah, well, round two here I come.

Scout19075 · 20/01/2012 17:05

Thank you for being so nice.

Thanks
CMOTDibbler · 20/01/2012 17:33

Oh no, do you have to do all the treatment again Sad

Jacksmania · 20/01/2012 18:09

(((((HUGS))))) Scout :(

Scout19075 · 20/01/2012 18:10

Yes. With more drugs mixed into the cocktail. Blurgh. NOT my idea of a good way to spend 11/12 months.

beanandspud · 20/01/2012 19:37

(((((((HUGS)))))))) Scout. Sending you Wine, Brew and USBiscuit.

Hope you are ok, we are all here if you want to talk.

UniS · 20/01/2012 19:44

oh BUM scout that is such a pain in teh backside. Massive sympathy. Here, you can have teh last coffee cream chocolate.

Scout19075 · 20/01/2012 20:00
UniS · 20/01/2012 20:11

Yay for brave TS.
Here scout, have a deep-fried battered pizza.

CMOTDibbler · 20/01/2012 20:32

How about a battered creme egg to go with it too ?

Its bound to be a very emotional time, for lots of reasons, so make sure you acknowledge that and don't be too stoical. And know you can always offload on us

Donki · 20/01/2012 20:41
Scout19075 · 20/01/2012 21:05

Who on earth thought up deep fried pizza?!

CMOTDibbler · 20/01/2012 21:13

Its one of those chip shop things - all they had to cook in was the deep fat fryer, so when people fancied a pizza, the inevitable happened

How about some Wine ?

I just looked in on ds - his rabbit was sleeping on the bed with him, and I didn't have the heart to put him back in the cage. Rabbit is soooo cute

Scout19075 · 20/01/2012 21:21

I thought the deep fried candy bars at the state fair were a bit Envy (tea room special). The pizza's a bit Hmm Envy.

A real rabbit? TS will be right over!

CMOTDibbler · 20/01/2012 21:25

I agree totally that it is Envy. Am not very good with greasy food anyway.

Real rabbit - he is gorgeous and bluey grey. If you are ever in the area, TS would be most welcome to come and cuddle him as he is a very social rabbit. He lives in Tiddlers bedroom, and spends most of his time roaming around in there

Scout19075 · 20/01/2012 21:32

TS has been uncontrollably excited around the "tats" today. Poor cats. Their quiet lives have been disturbed. He went upstairs this afternoon to find all four black ones hanging around -- oh the squeals of joy and delight (he forgot "slowly and quietly, TS, and they'll let you stroke them"). CMOT, I fear your "bubby" wouldn't know what was coming after him with Toddler's enthusiasm.

CMOTDibbler · 20/01/2012 21:40

Well, if he didn't like it, there'd still be 3 cats, 6 giant snails, 3 goldfish, and after a short car ride, a pony to harass...

UniS · 20/01/2012 23:24

WOW , glad I'm not involved in mucking out at the dibbler household. Do you have a woodburner too?

DH is flicking through "eye spy the weather" and saying
yes, yes, I see one of those evry day, yes, yes, easy....

I shall break it gently that this is boys book, not his.

Scout19075 · 21/01/2012 08:04

CMOT, not sure what TS would make of a pony -- they're bigger than him. Though he did start saying "horse" yesterday so maybe he'd be okay (there's a FP ride on horse here and he just pointed at it and said "horse" and went off to play with it).

How are your parents, CMOT?

My brain feels fuzzy like I haven't had enough sleep and TS wants me to keep drawing cats for him.

CMOTDibbler · 21/01/2012 09:23

Dpony is pretty tiny, and there are minature ponies at the stables who are TS sized.

No woodburner Sad

My parents are as manky as ever, and mum is on the urgent investigation pathway for GI cancer. Which the drs aren't telling her.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/01/2012 10:47

Oh dear, Cmot. My dad is very wobbly too at the moment. I do sympathise. Have a large Brew hot chocolate with extra sprinkles.

How are you today, Scout?

And arf at Dads who score full points in i-Spy books.

Bum for poorly mums and wobbly dads.

Silently chuckling at dad's who score points in iSpy books (sounds like something MrScout might try).

Maud, I think I'm okay today, thanks. Better than Thursday! Grin I've sent you an incoming re Guides.
