Elvanse Shortage

Has anyone had an issue with getting their elvanse prescription due to supply issues? I've had issues for the past 3/4 months getting my script on time and the issue is getting progressively worse.

I'm having to pick up one months medication in 3 goes as a result.

I'm seeing a few people having this issue but not enough noise about this. who do we complain to? I can't cope without the meds. there has to be a shortage issue

The patent expires this month, so likely to be shortages until September. Unfortunately seems like pharmacy’s haven’t “stocked up” prior to this with them being a stimulant… not sure if that’s something that they can control or not or limits stipulated by the distributor/manufacturer. I’m struggling too. Currently having to use my top up meds more often on the days I don’t “need” to be 100%.

I'm trying to get 20mg for my DD.

She's struggled with taking her medication and after a break she's just come around to taking it again and now I can't get a new supply.

I have some 30mg capsules. We didn't up the dose from 20mg as that level was working OK for her. Does anyone know if I could use 2/3rds of a capsule of 30mg to give her effectively a 20mg dose?

You can put the 30mg capsule into 30 ml of water and dissolve it, then drink only 20ml of the liquid and throw the rest away. Apparently that works.

Just seen on Reddit that you can check Boots pharmacy stock nationwide here https://www.boots.com/online/psc/

Found some so now have to drive to the next town which will be a 3 hour round trip on a Friday afternoon but I don't care, am just happy to get some!

See I travelled an hour away but they said they didn't have it in stock! apparently they don't do live updates of stock

Ohh interesting, it worked for me. I phoned loads of places then used boots website and the first place that I found that said they had it, did. I did phone to check first and get my script electronically sent before I drove over.

I’m a wreck without it, psychiatrist said it’d be unavailable til November.

im considering microdosing wirh mushrooms. Which I think might be illegal but I’m messing up in my job without the elvanse and cannot think straight let alone sleep.

anyone know where to find sensible advice on microdosing? I’ve read a lot of conflicting stuff

It's not allowed, but there's a website it can be ordered from - minimum order is £150 and there's a £20 off first order, I am happy to buy with other people if we all want to do this?

FYI! I saw on Reddit a few people have managed to get their scripts filled for these doses.

Can I also recommend L-Theanine with caffeine for those without meds and struggling. Not a replacement by any means, but takes the edge off.

I run out tomorrow and haven't been able to get any more (70mg). I've tried Boots, Lloyds Direct, all my local pharms, nothing! Has anyone managed to find any? Or how are you coping without it? 😓

psychiatrist suggested mefalfenadate but I can’t afford the titration again.
Plus elvanse worked

Is that concerta? Mine suggested switching but I can't afford to either and I'm so settled on elvanse. I'm gutted. When you say mushrooms, you mean the magic kind?

I’ve got 7 days worth left from what I was on titration.

5 are 70 mg and 2 are 50 mg.

I should be on 60mg.

I do take a 10mg Dexanfetamine top up at 1pm so I’m wondering whether I could take more of that instead. Has anyone got experience of this?

I don’t like the idea of withdrawing whilst in the middle of a busy term at school.

My brain feels like pure fog without it and I’ve been absolutely flying professionally since taking it.

I don’t want to change to a new drug in case it’s a faff to change back to Elvanse. If it comes back into circulation in November as it’s reported to do, I might even make it to then without issue.

It feels like us ADHDers aren’t being taken seriously and I’m quite upset about it.

is there a way to get it without prescription? my team have said no prescriptions being sent out and won't do one for a new drug either, am at wit's end

I take Elvanse 50mg and then 5mg dexamfetamine top up.

With the shortage,
my psychiatrist recommended taking 2 x5mg dex in morning and 1x5mg 5/6 hours later.

It’s not quite as impactful as Elvanse but certainly makes a difference. I am no longer concerned about how long it may take to get Elvanse again.

Yes, microdosing magic mushrooms - there’s no evidence apart from some people say it’s great. Omega supplements and caffeine have evidence , I been mainlining strong coffee and it does help.

GP has issued another prescription but I don’t know why as I’m still carrying that last one around .

I have been on 60mg elvanse for 3 years and now I can't get any, at any strength anywhere. I am on shared care do had just paid my yearly £350 fee but doctor now wants me to pay again to go so I can get an alternative as they have been told it will be January before they get any. I really don't want to take anything else but I can't see how I will manage without anything.

why £350 if you’re nhs? I pay £10 per month for 60mg per day.

The £350 is for the private psychiatrist (I am shared care)
