When I'm sorting, tidying, pulling things out and putting them back again, I feel a satisfaction. Even if I've done something and do it again, I feel satisfied with the re-sort. I love rearranging cupboards and spaces. This never fails to please me.

What pleases you?

My cozy, comfort warm bed. Fresh bedding, straight after a bath, clean bed clothes and my cats.

Namechangeagain84 · 15/02/2022 19:25

Ooo yes, fresh bedding. I'd forgotten about that.

Rearranging and making things a bit better each time is such a good feeling!

For me it is walking along the beach. Getting everything back where it should be. Being completely on my own with time to do something I want to do. Running. Reading bedtime stories when the kids are snuggled in and sleepy and things are finally calm.

Namechangeagain84 · 15/02/2022 19:33

Oh that lovely calm feeling in the evening @Percie is definitely one for me too.
Do you live by the sea? It must be lovely to be able to walk along the beach.

Being around animals, being in nature, getting totally lost in a good book

BoardLikeAMirror · 15/02/2022 19:58

Immersing myself in a hot bath or swimming in the sea in summer. I always feel at my most content in water - it seems to take away all my little aches and pains.

They're meant to be cats 😄

  1. Combo of new pjs, fresh sheets and fresh out of the bath.
  1. Hot water bottle in the (purposefully cold) bedroom.
MushroomHunter · 15/02/2022 21:55

For me it’s, being alone at the end of the day and feeling calm. My senses are overloaded all day long and being alone for an hr or two really helps me find a balance. Oh and being outside, I find it so peaceful no matter what the weather is like.

Percie · 15/02/2022 22:26

Used to be an easy walking distance from the beach @Namechangeagain84 but now a little further out. I'm there as often as possible, though!

Namechangeagain84 · 16/02/2022 02:54

Animals are featuring here - I love animals too. No expectations, except feeding, and they accept you for who you are. I love this.

@MushroomHunter that's interesting what you say about the weather. I hate the cold, wet, wind or too hot. I'm sure I must moan about the weather more than what is normal!

MushroomHunter · 16/02/2022 07:47

@Namechangeagain84 I think it’s because one of my obsessions is nature - hence my name. In the last lockdown I became obsessed with mushrooms! So I tend to be outside because of that. I do however need to dress appropriately. I don’t moan about the weather I enjoy it.

In the house is a different matter, it’s literally what I am know for, my internal thermometer which is completely different to everyone else’s.

Sailing, when your absolutely flying along, or when there's no wind and you can just sit and watch the wildlife. Canoeing somewhere quiet without people, especially if I can get up to be out before dawn. Sea swimming. Unfortunately I rarely get to do any of these. Otherwise just being on my own. Anywhere, as long as there are no other people and no demands on my time.

IsThisAkissingBook · 16/02/2022 08:39

In my house on the sofa with a blanket. My cats and chihuahua with me whilst I crochet and watch the princess bride.

Namechangeagain84 · 16/02/2022 09:04

These are all really interesting (and lovely). Its nice to hear what other people enjoy.

There is a glen near here with a burn (stream) running down through it over rocks creating waterfalls. It belongs to the local Lord/laird and over the centuries has been beautifully planted with many varieties of trees and many wild plants have grown there. Many wild birds nest in the trees. I am looking forward to visiting in the spring (hopefully next few weeks!) when the buds break on the trees as it is most wonderful.

I am off to read my book now as the dog will have a nap and I can escape into a fantasy world for a wee while. The winds are just starting to rise outside as the storm comes apparently - although it seems to have been frightful already in England!

felulageller · 16/02/2022 15:52

I was happy earlier-

On own on couch. Throw over me. In comfy jammies. Endless tea/ juice. Endless comfort food snacking. Reading. Writing. Making lists. Sorting stuff into categories. Watching a TV show I've seen a few times so know what happens in the end. Looking out at a nice view. No demands being made of me.

DinosaurOfFire · 16/02/2022 16:03

Comfy clothes, an immersive computer game, noise cancellling headphones to hear the game, chocolate and a nice glass of rose wine is currently my happy place!

Nortd · 16/02/2022 18:22

Netflix binges, fingerboarding, doing art, my absolute zoo of pets, video games, West wing binges, music.

Namechangeagain84 · 16/02/2022 19:06

@felulageller that's exactly the reason I like watching TV programmes over too Smile

What's really nice to read is that there are people put there who like doing different things. My social media seems to always be swamped with nights out and theme parks. That's fine and all that, it's just nice to see that other people get pleasures from other things too. I dont feel so alone with it.

My dog. Being near or on the water or walking along the beach just on the line where the sea meets the sand. Watching TBBT. Getting under my weighted blanket at night.

ofwarren · 16/02/2022 19:12

Going to the petting zoo and stroking EVERYTHING!
I'm noticeably autistic when I'm there, sat on the floor with sheep kissing goats and hugging ponies 🤣
I cannot hide my delight at the petting zoo.

Namechangeagain84 · 16/02/2022 19:14

@LilyRed that sounds absolutely wonderful.

Yes the wind is frightful. Had to move remaining stuff into shed today. I hope it's not too bad where you are.

If you're ever up really far north in Scotland, you're welcome to hug my sheep, they're ridiculously tame but very, very smelly. 🤣
