When I'm sorting, tidying, pulling things out and putting them back again, I feel a satisfaction. Even if I've done something and do it again, I feel satisfied with the re-sort. I love rearranging cupboards and spaces. This never fails to please me.

What pleases you?

Nortd I really don't mind a smelly sheep, even the smelly pigs get a hug from me Grin

I look after my friend's two sheep sometimes. They won't stand still for a hug though 😄 my favourites are goats, I love goats 💚

Sheep are great! I wasn't keen on goats until I went to a farm last year and was at the goat area for ages. Interesting animals.
I find pigs scary but love going to the farm and holding the guinea pigs and lambs etc.

I'm scared of pigs and cows 😬

I used to keep chickens. They're funny.

Clem (short for clementine!) she's my most tame because she is food obsessed and would follow anyone with a bucket, even an axe murderer because she loves me 🤣

Ah, she's a lovely sheep 💚

LilyRed · 16/02/2022 20:03

I want to come and cuddle sheep! Part of my childhood was in the Cotswolds (before they were posh!) sheep everywhere - I can do a mean impression of a calling ewe.

Where we lived just down the coast the ewes were overwintered in the field behind the house so the grass made good silage, then after they were sorted and moved in January to the lambing fields they held the sheepdog trials in the field. It was also full of curlews in the Winter.

Now it is full of new houses, very sad Angry

I hate to see fields disappearing 😥

duvetdayforeveryone · 16/02/2022 20:07

Being at home. In bed. With my laptop. On the internet.

ofwarren · 16/02/2022 20:09

Clementine is lovely 😍
We have a farm a few streets away which has sheep. The fields are a public right of way so it's great at lambing as you get to see all the cute babies.

Namechangeagain84 · 16/02/2022 20:12

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation so many fields have disappeared where I live, for housing and industrial estates ☹️

@Namechangeagain84

it is wonderful, I will try to remember take some photos when I go next time. Meanwhile when it is not so windy we have the beaches along the coast and I can go and pebble hunt, and until then I can watch my bulbs and spring flowers in pots in the garden beginning to open Smile

So do I Sad I have lived in the countryside most of my life. A lot of the coastal fields along the main road here are used to graze cattle and occasionally sheep in the winter and then used to grow Ayrshire early tatties potatoes - yum!) in the spring as they take the seaweed from the beach as well to fertilise.

However, they are actually owned by housebuilders who bought them in the 1970s as part of their land banks ... so sooner or later they will be built upon. And all the overwintering birds, and the rest of the curlews who are rare enough as it is and the rest of the wildlife will be lost.

Before it was built upon, the old sheep field had an archaeologist come to dig it, as back in 1880 something, Neolithic Urn inhumations (burials) had been found in the field and around the old steading where we had a house. All that was found was a shell midden and evidence of rig and furrow farming. All that space is now lost. I

For me this presents a dichotomy, the need for housing the next generation so a village doesn't lose it's young people and families have continuing intergenerational support, and the need for land to build housing. That is, affordable housing, not luxe estates that only retirees can afford - that is how you kill the spirit and soul of a village Sad, and not land that has supported wildlife for countless generations beyond memory. Sorry, this really exercises me

UnadulteratedCat · 17/02/2022 08:55

To be honest… not much. I’ve never been particularly happy or excited for things but neither have I been sad or grumpy. Fairly neutral.

In saying that, I did a strip and sanitise on my bedding last year and it was very nice to sleep in those sheets.

EssexLioness · 17/02/2022 09:38

@felulageller

I was happy earlier-

On own on couch. Throw over me. In comfy jammies. Endless tea/ juice. Endless comfort food snacking. Reading. Writing. Making lists. Sorting stuff into categories. Watching a TV show I've seen a few times so know what happens in the end. Looking out at a nice view. No demands being made of me.

This pretty much sums it up for me, although when the weather is nice I enjoy just being outdoors in the countryside. Nature is really calming for me. I could also sit for ages just watching the birds/ wildlife in our garden.
LilyRed · 17/02/2022 23:54

I am sorry about being such a grumpy sod! Blush I think I have slightly manic episodes sometimes - usually I'm quite happy and tell daft jokes and make up and sing silly songs until I am told to shut up! Grin
