My Loop earplugs arrived 😃

I bought the Quiet variety. I wore them to the shops this morning.

They work! I never expected them to as I've tried earplugs before, but these are brilliant 😃 the music instore was loud, but it sounded very dampened and far away. I could just about hear dh's voice if he was standing next to me. All the other noise - people chatting, beeping noises etc. - was very difficult to hear.

For the first time ever I felt relaxed and happy in a store. I literally wasn't bothered one bit by it. I could concentrate on what I was buying and my brain could function.

I'd certainly recommend these 😃

Oh wow, excellent! Are they comfy in the ear? I really don't like things in my ear so generally wear over the ear headphones.

EinsteinVonBrainstorm · 15/02/2022 15:52

I have the Flare Audio Calmer ones and they really help me to cope with mouth noises.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 15/02/2022 16:54

Yeah, they're comfy enough. They come with different sized bud things.

I didn’t know this was a thing! I can’t handle loud etc noises and just thought it was me being crap. Thanks for posting this! I’m not alone🤣🤣🤣and am googling Quiet ear plugs. Have to stick fingers in ear in pubs, not a Good Look !

Woohoo! I can't remember how I found about them, but I agree, they are THE best earplugs I've ever come across.

I have the Experience Pro for performing onstage and the Experience for day-to-day life. I like how discreet they are, and how they cancel out the 'wrong' frequencies without totally blocking your hearing.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 15/02/2022 17:32

@Afflt I might get some for ds2. He does have earbuds, but they're not that good.

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation Hurrah! Grin I am am so pleased they work well for you.

My foam plug? bits for mine arrived this morning. My ears are wonky inside so I ended up with the smallest size after starting on medium when I got them.

I want the foam bits to use the loops when I sleep - they really do mitigate DP's snoring as he is too stupid to go and see the GP about it - and also the pipes in the wall and and every other bloody noise I hear!

I warm them up before inserting them as it is much more comfortable - putting in cold ones is quite a shock!

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 16/02/2022 14:34

I wore them again whilst out dog walking and the traffic noise was massively reduced 😃 my nerves didn't feel as shredded when walking next to a busy road.

I think loud noise aggravates the nervous system and puts you in to fight or flight mode.

Do you have a link please?

How small are the smallest buds? I have very weird ear canals and ear buds are always too big / don’t tend to stay in, but I feel really self conscious walking around with ear defenders or huge headphones. I did have made to measure earplugs at one point but they’re really expensive and didn’t last that long so if these are a good alternative I might try them.

The smallest buds are very small and I couldn't keep them in my ear and I don't have very big ears. I'd say they were suitable for a child.

I use the smallest! Grin they are about 8mm or so in diameter
BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 16/02/2022 19:58

Yeah, they're very small. You must have tiny lugs 😄

I think my ear 'oles are just all scrunched up inside and weirdly shaped Grin

watchtheglitterdustswirl · 16/02/2022 21:08

Ooh I've got Flare Calmer ones. I hope the Loop ones are as good for you I love mine.

My favourite thing about really obvious headphones is that it stops people talking to you. When I have wore earplugs in the past, people try to speak to me and then I feel awkward.

I usually just nod and smile which works okay until they tell me their auntie died or something 😄🤦‍♀️

I tried the flare ones and they didn't work for me. Looked at the loop ones but I tend to just get by with my AirPods Pro in my ears and flick the noise cancellation for them on and off as required - rarely if ever have music playing through them but just turn people off

Feedmepancakes · 21/02/2022 18:07

I've just started using the flare calmer ones, and I'm quite impressed so far. They are the clear ones and are almost invisible.

I'm finding them quite big though, and I suspect the kids ones might be too small which is a bit annoying.

AllKnowingGerbil · 23/03/2022 22:41

I'm so disappointed. I bought loop and they feel awful in ear and don't block noise. Tried every single tip size. Yet another waste of money, I was swayed by great reviews on Facebook.

bangragal · 29/04/2022 05:06

I bought a pair of loop earplugs and they are the best thing since sliced bread. Sadly, I lost one. I've just bitten the bullet and ordered another pair - they're not cheap! I've also emailed them asking if it's possible to create a lanyard that could be used to keep them together - I lose things a lot :(

bangragal · 29/04/2022 05:10

Just to add - they came from somewhere in Europe - took over 2 weeks to arrive, not sure if that's normal or not but it seemed like a long wait.

Yeah, mine took about 10 working days. I think they come from Germany.

Got my loops from amazon and I love them. They're attached to my key ring so go everywhere with me.
